The new year has been off to a rough start for Bethenny Frankel. It seems that The Real Housewives of New York alum was forced to cut a vacation short for a scary reason. Both Bethenny and her daughter, Bryn Hoppy, were ringing in 2026 in St. Barths.
However, a scary health concern necessitated the duo heading home early. Bethenny revealed via social media that she was suffering from a bacterial infection. She shared a photo showing her face with red bumps and a rash running up to her eye. It’s no wonder Bethenny decided to cut her trip short.
Bethenny Frankel blames hotel towels for her facial bacterial infection
Now, Bethenny is setting the record straight about exactly what happened. “So, I had a bacterial infection from towels. It happened once to my daughter. She was the one who recognized it when it happened to me, and it started to happen to her,” Bethenny explained via TikTok. “And towels hold bacteria. So do sheets.”
The former RHONY star explained that towels and sheets sometimes sit in bins before they are washed, even at the best resorts. “It sits in these bins with food and beverage and heat, and God knows what … I’m not going to get into,” Bethenny alleged. “And it just is not sanitary in any situation. Even a well-cleaned towel still holds bacteria.”
She added, “But I’m just telling you that I will never, ever in my life, use a hotel towel or sheet again. So, you’re welcome.” However, that wasn’t the only reason that Bethenny departed St. Barths. The tragic news of the passing of Bethenny’s make-up artist and friend, Jasen Kaplan, also seems to have influenced her decision.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Andy Cohen shaded Bethenny after she posted a TikTok about New Year’s Eve. Andy happens to co-host CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live special. “Boy, that Margarita lady,” Andy said, referencing Bethenny. “Oh, my God. It’s … it’s … it’s … it’s … suffocating,” he said of her TikToks.
