Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais suffered through a scary ordeal over the weekend. Cops showed up at her Los Angeles home after receiving reports that there was a man there with a gun.
The whole thing turned out to be a swatting incident, where someone falsely called 911 to elicit a major police response. It’s a scary situation, but what’s even scarier is that this isn’t the first time it’s happened to her.
A bogus 911 call led to Garcelle Beauvais’ LA home being targeted
TMZ first reported the details of this terrifying incident, which went down on Sunday, January 25. The Los Angeles police received a 911 call from a man claiming to be Garcelle’s ex-boyfriend. He claimed to have a sawed-off shotgun and said shots had already been fired.
When the police got there, they found no evidence of a crime, and there was no one there with a gun. They determined it was a “swatting” incident. Meanwhile, Garcelle was alone inside her home with no clue why the police were suddenly there.
Last summer, Garcelle experienced a similar situation when someone swatted her $1.5 million beach home. That incident prompted a visit from the FBI.
When it happened at the beach house, Garcelle and her kids weren’t home. This time, she wasn’t so lucky and witnessed the law enforcement response firsthand.
Sources close to the RHOBH alum said that she’s feeling rattled from the “deeply concerning” incident. Now, she’s working with her family and law enforcement to make sure it never happens again.
