When the news broke that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Denise Richards and her husband, Aaron Phypers, called it quits, it was a shock. Of course, no one knew what was happening in the couple’s private lives. However, once the divorce news hit the headlines, the accusations started flying.
Denise accused Aaron of allegedly being abusive, and she requested that the court issue a permanent restraining order against him. The former RHOBH star detailed alleged incidents of abuse in court, and it was gut-wrenching. Finally, the judge granted the restraining order.
Aaron Phypers allegedly “hit” Denise following her surgery
Denise appeared in RHOBH Season 15 Episode 10 to discuss her messy divorce. She had dinner with Erika Jayne and Sutton Stracke. First, Erika asked Denise about the photo of her with a black eye. “That can’t be a one-time thing,” Erika stated. “No,” Denise admitted. Then Sutton asked when the abuse in her marriage started.
“It started, umm, I mean, a while ago. It was a slow burn, though,” Denise explained. “You know, my dad asked me, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ And I said, ‘I can’t share this and stay with a person.’” However, the night that Denise had her breast surgery was a turning point.
According to Denise, she had some “fat taken out and put in my boobs,” so she had a drain implanted post-surgery. While she was still under the effects of the anesthesia, Aaron helped Denise to the bathroom. “While I was sitting on the toilet, he was trying to get my phone, and f*cking hit me on the side of my head,” Denise said. “My drain hit the toilet paper thing. And I’m like, I start crying, I’m like … that’s when I really knew there’s no hope at ever … at ever salvaging this marriage at all.”
She also explained another time that Aaron was allegedly abusive, following her facelift. “Well, that’s why I filed a restraining order and why we’re getting divorced,” Denise remarked. “I told Charlie [Sheen] he’s making him look like a saint.”
