Margaret Josephs had a painfully shady response to a question about her former Real Housewives of New Jersey co-star, Teresa Giudice. In a video circulating on socials, the RHONJ alum made a quip about Teresa’s eligibility to vote since she “went to camp” (read: served time in federal prison).
Marge drops a reminder to the enthusiastic audience when asked about Teresa’s vote
During an appearance on So Many Issues with Lukas, ex-RHONJ housewife Marge was asked about Teresa allegedly voting for Donald Trump, whom she has frequently voiced support for.
“Teresa can’t vote,” Marge quickly replied with a smirk, earning a ton of laughs from the studio audience. “Ahh, I forgot about that, she can’t vote,” the host added, also letting out laughter and a dance of excitement.
“Good,” the host went on, to which Marge affirmed again: “Yeah, she can’t vote. Don’t worry.”
In the comment section, some TikTokers had the same reaction as those in the audience of the show itself. Meanwhile, others seemingly stuck up for Teresa.
“They will never make me hate Margaret,” one RHONJ viewer said. “I’ll miss her quick comebacks,” another fan added. “Marge is so f*cking funny. I will miss her,” agreed a third.
“Love her or hate her, Marge is the vibe, with all the great one-liners!!” someone else chimed in.
“Marge [is] not even on the show anymore, and Teresa is the only thing she still talks about,” a different viewer noted, pointing to the pair’s ongoing feud. “But she didn’t get fired like Marge,” someone else said, in defence of Teresa.
So, is Marge correct about Teresa’s right to vote? Well, not quite.
Following her 2014 federal fraud conviction, Teresa was ineligible to vote in New Jersey while she was incarcerated and on supervised probation. But her supervised release ended in February 2018, meaning her voting rights should have been restored after that time.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock.
