NeNe Leakes Breaks Silence on Andy Cohen Relationship Post Bravo Lawsuit

NeNe Leakes spent years as one of the biggest personalities on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Whether she was arguing with castmates or delivering the kind of quotes fans still repeat online (BLOOP!), NeNe became a huge part of the show’s success and one of Bravo’s most recognizable stars. That made the fallout with Bravo and Andy Cohen even more surprising for longtime viewers.

In 2022, NeNe filed a lawsuit accusing the network of fostering a hostile and racist work environment. The filing also alleged Bravo failed to properly respond to complaints involving former co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann.

Even after NeNe later dropped the lawsuit, fans continued wondering if the damage behind the scenes was too big for any kind of future relationship with Andy or the network. Now, it sounds like things may not be as icy as fans assumed.

During a new interview with Vulture, NeNe opened up about where things stand with Andy these days. While the two still have not seen each other face-to-face since the lawsuit drama, she revealed they have communicated privately through text messages. However, they aren’t technically back on speaking terms just yet.

“I guess the question would be, ‘What would it take to get him back on those terms?’” NeNe said.

Even after everything that happened, she explained that she doesn’t like staying stuck in bitterness for years. “I am the kind of person that, good or bad, time heals. You don’t have to be besties or anything like that, but I move forward. I’m not into holding negative energy.”

Andy also recently addressed the situation during his own Vulture interview, though he kept things brief. According to him, he could not “speak to that lawsuit, but it’s in the past.”

The conversation around their relationship comes at an interesting time because NeNe is heading back to Bravo (kind of) for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. Earlier this year, Andy confirmed she would appear in the special and admitted fans were excited about seeing her return.

“She’s gonna be making an appearance,” he shared. “When we go to Atlanta, she’s gonna be there.”

“People are really happy about it,” he added. “Listen, we are going to be celebrating 20 years of ‘Housewives,’ and it would be hard … to without her. And so I’m happy about it.”

NeNe also celebrated the moment herself online, calling the experience “a really long, long journey” and thanking Andy and Bravo executives for continuing to support her return.

Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
