Brittany Cartwright just revealed that she and her ex, Jax Taylor, communicate solely through a parenting app. The former couple, who share one son, Cruz Cauchi, have had a tumultuous relationship. And their ongoing divorce seems to be following the same pattern. However, it appears that both Jax and Brittany are putting Cruz first, which is wonderful to hear.
The Valley star and her ex have a contentious relationship
During Season 2 of The Valley, Jax treated Brittany horribly. He flipped a coffee table and bruised her leg. While in rehab, he watched Brittany through their home cameras and continued to rage-text her. Eventually, Jax decided to exit the series ahead of Season 3, leading to a more peaceful season for Brittany. And thankfully, she recently shared that Jax is sober.
However, their coparenting dynamic hasn’t been easy to navigate. She previously noted that “it is better than it was two years ago.” Recently, Brittany shared more about her coparenting situation with Jax.
“Coparenting is not easy, but we both want to put Cruz first. I will say that,” Brittany told Entertainment Tonight. “Our custody is already completed. I have him majority of the time. Jax has him on Wednesdays and every other weekend for right now.”
Still, communication between the duo is an issue. “It’s been rough, and I really had to set boundaries. He’s a well-known rage texter and everything. So, that had to kind of be put to rest,” Brittany stated.
She continued, “We have a parenting app that we talk through. We don’t talk on the phone anymore.” The Valley star added, “And that happened recently within the past, like month, ’cause before that it was having to block … block like every other week or something.” Yikes.
It seems like Jax and Brittany’s coparenting relationship may be slowly improving. And if communicating through an app helps create some healthy distance, all the better.
