Summer House Season 10 is (almost!) over. While there’s still an epic three-part reunion to come, the cast’s time in the Hamptons has drawn to a close … but it’s not the last viewers get to see of them.

After years of wanting more of the Summer House cast’s life in New York, fans have finally got just that. Introducing: In The City. Here’s exactly what went down in In The City Episode 1: “Welcome to New York.”

What happened in In The City Season 1 Episode 1?

After returning from a difficult summer in the Hamptons, Amanda and Kyle went their separate ways in an attempt to repair their marriage. Meanwhile, Lindsay introduced her daughter, Gemma, as well as some of her closest friends, who make up part of the cast. Beyond the newcomers, there were familiar faces, too. Let’s get into it…

Kyle and Amanda unpacked their split

In the opening scene of In The City, Kyle and Amanda met at the apartment they once shared. Kyle began the chat by acknowledging the pair had “somewhat kept in touch” following their split and the subsequent dating scandal involving West. That said, he wanted to “clear some things up” before he’d be able to move past it and support Amanda.

“I look back at this summer, and it looked like you were done with me,” he said of their relationship, which viewers saw unravel during Summer House Season 10. Responding, Amanda said that attitude is “so frustrating” because she gave the relationship “everything” she had. She went on to explain that the idea of “existing” without Kyle was “so impossible” at the time, which is why things got “so messy.”

And then unpacked the scandal

After discussing the demise of their relationship, Kyle asked Amanda if she had started an “emotional affair” with West before they had officially separated. “Nothing was happening,” she responded, arguing that she was “so committed” to Kyle throughout the years of their marriage, including through the summer and fall in question.

“All I wanted was for it to work,” Amanda added of her marriage to Kyle. “For you to even question my faithfulness in any capacity, really f*cking hurts,” she went on. “That’s not the type of person that I am.” Amanda then continued to insist she never “stepped out” on their relationship while reminding Kyle that he has in the past.

Despite the obvious betrayal by Amanda, Kyle said he wanted to be a “good friend” to his former wife. “I worry about you. I worry about your mental health,” he said to her. “It’s not your responsibility, but I appreciate that,” she replied.

Kyle concluded the chat by saying whatever “happens” moving forward isn’t because he’s trying to “rekindle” their romance, but rather simply because he “cares” about Amanda. What a sweetheart!

Lindsay introduced her “clone” … and some of the cast

Inviting fans into the “chaos” of her life since becoming a first-time mom, Lindsay introduced Gemma, whom she said is “no doubt” her daughter. “When I give a death stare to someone, Gemma gives the [same] death stare,” she added of Gemma. “I cloned myself and then gave birth.”

To that end, Lindsay explained that she and her friends are all “entering a new chapter” of their lives and “answering the big questions” of adulthood. And it’s exactly that friendship group – who make up the cast of In The City – that Lindsay credits with getting her through the first year of motherhood.

First up, Yvonne is introduced as Lindsay’s bestie of 15 years. That friendship is summed up by a breakup, breastmilk, and shots of tequila. They’re close, put it that way. Next on the roster is Nick, Yvonne’s husband, followed by Georgina, who is one of Lindsay’s “mom friends.”

Amanda spilled on her separation from Kyle

While grocery shopping with Lindsay, Amanda filled her then-friend in on what her relationship with Kyle was like of late. Remember, In The City was filmed directly after summer 2025 in the Hamptons, but the season opened with a brief time jump to acknowledge the current dating scandal.

Anyway, Amanda revealed she had spent a few nights in a hotel immediately after returning from the Hamptons. And things didn’t get any better from there. In a recent couple’s counselling session, the therapist accused Amanda and Kyle of “hating each other.” This comment, among their other issues, seemingly prompted them to consider moving out of their shared apartment.

Later on in the episode, Amanda and Kyle celebrated their wedding anniversary and – ironically – discussed a separation. “I want us to date [each other] again,” Amanda said of how she thought a separation could bring them closer together. “It’s a lot to swallow, but I’m trying to be open-minded,” her CEO slash DJ husband replied. “I’ve never heard of a couple separating … and using that as a tool to get back together, but maybe that’s what we need,” he added in a confessional.

Some familiar Summer House faces returned

Former Summer House star Andrea arrived on the scene, accompanied by his wife, Lexi. The pair gave new viewers a recap of their romance and their recent wedding in Italy. To that, Andrea pointedly noted that Kyle attended without Amanda … foreshadowing, much!

Next, Danielle also made her full-time return to the Bravoverse. She has only appeared as a guest on Summer House, following her departure in Season 9. She didn’t come back alone, however. Danielle is joined this season by her partner – and soon-to-be baby daddy – Eoin. “It’s fast, but … once you feel like that’s it, you fly headfirst into it,” she said of their whirlwind romance.

Despite how loved-up Danielle is in her new relationship, she confessed to feeling sad that her former friend, Lindsay, didn’t even know about it. “We haven’t spoken for four months,” she revealed. “I feel like she just ghosted on our friendship … I hate that it’s awkward now.”

Lindsay clashed with Kenny

In the final scenes of the premiere episode, a handful of In The City’s cast met at a bar. Not everyone made it, however. While on their way, Kyle and Amanda argued about a recent therapy session. Amanda left the chat in tears, deciding not to “put on a face” and pretend everything was fine.

Meanwhile, at the bar, Lindsay clashed with two of the Bravo newcomers. Earlier in the episode, viewers met Kenny and Whitney, who had just taken their romance to the next level by moving in together. In fact, Whitney had moved all the way from the Midwest to be with Kenny. But Lindsay had some, err, thoughts on that. “I’m grilling Kenny,” she said of the interaction as she queried why Whitney had moved across the country without the “commitment” of an engagement.

“It’s a very big deal,” Lindsay said to Kenny, warning him not to “f*ck around” in his relationship. “I’m getting ‘I hate men’ vibes,” he said in response. Thankfully, Lindsay had the ideal clapback to that, telling him that she’s actually just “allergic to annoying men.” Mic drop.

Lindsay pulled out the receipts

Taking a leaf out of Heather Gay’s book, Lindsay brought up a string of receipts in a confessional when queried about her friendship with Danielle, who was also hanging out at the bar with the rest of the group. Some of these dated all the way back to 2019, and included an accusation that Danielle “gave Carl a handjob in the back of an Uber.”

Back at the bar, Danielle approached Lindsay to say hi … and extended an invite for a proper catch-up over lunch. “I’m a little busy these days,” her former BFF replied, coldly. “I’ll have a think about it.” Ouch!

The pair’s frosty exchange became a topic of conversation at a later hangout, too. As Lindsay, Amanda, Yvonne, and Georgia caught up over cocktails, they discussed Danielle’s new relationship as well as her friendship fallout. “You’re blowing my mind right now,” Lindsay said of the tea Amanda had brought about Danielle, which included the revelation that her new partner is still married.

In The City continues on Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
