Nia Sanchez recently reflected on her experience in the Miss USA pageant and crossing paths with President Donald Trump. And from her recollection, it didn’t seem like a positive experience for Nia. The Valley star, who represented the state of Nevada, was crowned Miss USA in 2014.
Nia Sanchez said Donald Trump “brought all of his golf buddies” to watch Miss USA rehearsals
Nia discussed her odd experience on the podcast, Not Skinny But Not Fat. “When Trump owned the Miss USA/Miss Universe organization, there was one time when he brought all of his golf buddies to come watch all of us rehearse. It was actually kind of creepy,” Nia explained.
She added that she and other contestants weren’t “very comfortable” during the experience. “We were in the middle of rehearsals, and he brought all of these older men in to watch us perform,” Nia stated. Trump’s guests supposedly asked to take photos with the ladies.
“I definitely, very intentionally, grabbed and released one of their hands very specifically,” Nia alleged. “I was like, ‘Don’t ever put your hands on me without asking.’” Don’t fool with Nia.
In The Valley Season 3, Nia and her husband, Danny Booko, hit a rough spot in their marriage. After Nia welcomed their fourth child, daughter Adelaide, Danny offered little help and support. Plus, when “Darkside Danny” emerged, Danny spoke to Nia disrespectfully. Still, Nia defended Danny to their friend group, claiming that they were working on these issues privately.
Meanwhile, Danny issued a public apology to his wife for his questionable behavior. Meanwhile, the cast of The Valley remained divided. Some of the friends wanted to call out Danny for lying about his drinking and the way he spoke to Nia. Others, like Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick, had the couple’s back.
The Valley airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
