Gizelle Bryant Thinks She “Was Just Really Wrong” About Sherman Douglas

The much-anticipated nuptials of Candiace Dillard and Chris Bassett was enough of an affair to get all the feuding Real Housewives of Potomac together.  The significant others showed up as well, and it seems that this group of partners get more involved in the drama than usual.  But one person who chose to stay away, was Gizelle Bryant’s now ex-boyfriend Sherman Douglas.

Gizelle tearfully revealed that Sherman decided not to accompany her to the wedding.  He made a habit of not showing up to notable events even last season, including Gizelle’s birthday party.  After previously professing his love to her on camera, Sherman left Gizelle understandably confused at his behavior.  She decided to attend the wedding and face the questions and gossip anyway.  Gizelle seemed so raw in her emotions that she even felt compelled to try and make amends with Karen Huger.  But now that Gizelle has had time to process all that happened, she is speaking about the breakup with objectivity.

Here’s what Gizelle said to Bravo’s Daily Dish about giving the relationship another chance.  “Sherman was very much calling me and trying to see me and spend time with me, which we did.  And at that point, I decided to really take it seriously.  We had broken up several times, so I’m like, ‘If we’re gonna do this, let’s do this right.’  So we started some counseling, and then it didn’t work out.”

Gizelle thinks she misjudged Sherman.  “And I really felt like he wanted us to be back together and wanted us to work had to there and I was wrong,” she said, “I was just really wrong.  So you live and you learn.  You can’t beat yourself up over it.”

So what is Gizelle looking for in a new man?  She said, “I think that’s the best thing because I really need somebody who’s gonna be there for me and be strong for me and handle all that I do.  I have a big life and a big world, and if you can’t handle it, then I need to move on.”

When asked how her daughters felt about the breakup, Gizelle responded, “yes they like Sherman, but they like their mommy more, so they really just want me to be happy.  And they realize if I’m not happy with Sherman, it’s fine.  You know, the right person will come along.”

Gizelle reveals that she has been dating.  She may or may not be involved with, “a little something something.  I’m taking things very slowly.  This is all baby steps for Gizelle.”

One thing is for sure, Gizelle will be a lot more cautious about introducing a new man to her costars, “they’re gonna meet him when I get married, on that day, on the wedding day, yes.”

All joking aside, Gizelle plans to be more guarded with her emotions, “No, it’s gonna be somebody that is obviously very serious.  You know what, I think I’m just gonna date whoever it is lightly, like light dating until I really know that it’s real.”
