Mauricio Umansky on ‘Really Intense and Sad’ Living Situation With Kyle Richards

Going through a breakup while living under the same roof with your partner isn’t easy. Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards have an enormous house, and even they’re having trouble making it work.

Kyle previously opened up about how they had essentially split their home in half to accommodate their separation. Mauricio got a bedroom downstairs to use as a makeshift bachelor pad. Kyle took over the upstairs. Meanwhile, three of their daughters who also live in the house are caught somewhere in the middle.

During a recent episode of Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio spoke about their odd living situation. He’s been surprisingly forthcoming about their marital issues throughout the second season of his Netflix show. However, his outlook on the situation with Kyle seemed pretty bleak.

A house divided

“It’s really intense and sad and hard. She’s taken over the entire top floor. I’m still living in the bedroom,” Mauricio shared on Buying Beverly Hills.

Notice how Mauricio called it a takeover. On a previous Watch What Happens Live, Kyle described their living arrangement a little bit differently. She made it seem like she was doing him a favor by taking over the upstairs.

“I let him stay in the primary bedroom because it’s very, like, masculine, and the upstairs floor is like the glam — I can’t stand that word — area, and there’s, like, a bed,” Kyle said. “So I was like, ‘You know what, what am I gonna do? Put him a little room with flowers and, you know, pink and velvet?’ No.”

Mau needs to move

Regardless of how they divided up the house, the next step is getting out from under the same roof. That’s one thing they can both agree on. During the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 reunion, Kyle admitted that Mauricio was “looking for a place.” On Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio shared more insight into what prompted that decision.

He explained, “If there is any chance of reconciling, I feel like I’m gonna have to move out to explore, ‘Do I miss her? Do I not miss her? Is it time for her to move on with life?'”

The chances of reconciling seem to get smaller and smaller by the day. We recently learned that the two spent Easter apart. Plus, the word on the street is that Kyle has hired divorce lawyers. That’s probably not a good sign.
