When I think of non-toxic men, those employed by Bravo usually do not come to mind. The network has a talent for finding the biggest f*ckboys around. They cheat, they lie, they stay out until 4 a.m. They aren’t exactly giving marriage material. However, The Valley star Jason Caperna may be breaking the stereotype. I keep waiting to see his dark side emerge, but I’ve concluded that he may be a normal, nice man. Shocking, I know. The more viewers see of Jason, the more they like him, which cannot be said for most of his co-stars. Is Jason the non-toxic male that Bravo needs? I think so. Here is why I believe he is a great addition to the Bravoverse.
He is nice to his wife Janet Caperna

I can’t believe I am praising a man for being nice to his wife in 2025, but here we are. The men on The Valley are so poorly behaved that they make Jason look like an angel for treating Janet with basic human decency. The bar is in hell. Jax Taylor is flipping tables and rage-texting Brittany Cartwright, Jesse Lally is accusing his ex of being an escort, and even Danny Booko, who fans praised for being a good husband last season, is engaging in some weird behavior this time around. Compared to his friends, Jason seems like a normal guy who loves his wife. He doesn’t talk down to Janet, and we rarely see them fight on camera. He’s been so unproblematic that fans are beginning to wonder why he is friends with these people.
The only controversy surrounding Jason this season stems from a comment Kristen Doute made in the teaser trailer. The Vanderpump Rules alum accused her co-star of taking off his wedding ring when he went to the bar. Janet and Jason shot down this claim in an interview with Us Weekly.
“It’s tough because it’s not just a ring off. There’s definitely an implication there,” he said. “When somebody says you take your ring off, it’s not like, ‘Oh, I forgot it’. It’s like I’m doing it to try to get girls or something as if I take it off and they just flock to me.”
“I would never do anything ever to jeopardize this lady right here is my wife and our son and the family we have,” he added.
He is the voice the reason on The Valley

It is often hard to find logic in The Valley stars’ actions, especially the men. Thankfully, they have Jason to serve as the voice of reason, encouraging them to take the honorable path and not fall into a hole of self-destruction. Most recently, he delivered some sage advice during a trip to Palm Springs. Brittany expressed frustration that Jesse told Jax about their trip to Palm Springs, fearing that the information would tempt him to leave rehab. Jason had Brittany’s back, telling the group Jax still had more work to do on himself.
“I spoke to [Jax] on the phone yesterday. He still blames for Brittany for a lot of what is going on,” he said.
Most of the men on The Valley appear to have blind loyalty to their male co-stars, but Jason looks at situations more objectively.
He has a stable job
Many Bravolebs leave behind their 9 to 5 once they find success on reality television. They trade in long commutes and sterile offices for lucrative brand deals and TV appearances. Jason, on the other hand, has kept his full-time gig while appearing on The Valley. He is currently a partner at the law firm Acumen Law, LLP in Glendale, California. We can’t blame Bravo stars for wanting to make a living off of selling products on Instagram from the comfort of their bed. It seems like a nice life. But I’m guessing Janet is glad Jason has a career in case those brand deals stop coming.
The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
