Ever since Bravo announced that it was launching Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, fans have wondered who would sign up. The original Wife Swap featured women swapping lives and families with other women. And it was a messy delight.
Now, four Real Housewives stars are trading in their lives of luxury for some culture shock. There were reports that Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga had signed on for the new edition of the series. Thankfully, we can confirm that she is, indeed, stepping out of New Jersey. Angie Katsanevas and Melissa Gorga are among the Real Housewives on Wife Swap
Each of the four episodes is standalone, chronicling one set of swapped wives’ joys and tribulations. Besides Melissa, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City snowflake Angie Katsanevas is getting ready for a major shock. “Can you imagine swapping lives with someone else?” Angie asked. “I’m going to Idaho,” she later told her husband and daughter, Elektra. “You’re gonna die,” her daughter announced. After all, Angie traded places with a homesteader, Lindsay Flake, who lives way off the grid. And when Lindsay took Elektra’s phone, she wasn’t thrilled. “She is not my thing,” Angie’s daughter announced.
Meanwhile, when Emily Simpson was asked by a producer why she was “doing the swap,” she replied, “Because I want to see Shane [Simpson] so uncomfortable.” The Real Housewives of Orange County star traveled to New Jersey and had to navigate an “old-school marriage.”
Finally, Dr. Wendy Osefo, of The Real Housewives of Potomac, swapped places with Alethea Shapiro, who embraces zero rules. And when Wendy returned, she told her replacement, “Thank you for ruining my carpet,” as the camera panned to a white carpet with a huge red stain. There were also plenty of heart-warming moments as both wives discussed their emotions and experiences.
Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition debuts on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It will stream the following day on Peacock.
