Fresh off a Real Housewives of Salt Lake City binge, the Disney star-turned-pop diva came ready to play. When Andy Cohen challenged her to come up with her own Housewives tagline, she 100% delivered. Plenty of WWHL guests have delivered their fantasy Real Housewives taglines. Most of them are corny. Demi set a new standard during the September 16 episode.
“I’m always serving, and my favorite dish is a mug,” Demi said, framing her face with her hand.
Immediately, Andy seemed blown away by the delivery. It’s the type of punchy tagline we hope to hear before watching a bunch of rich women navigate their made-up problems.
But, for those of us who are chronically online, we know this was more than just a witty one-liner. She was actually calling back to an iconic moment from over a decade ago that turned into a meme, when an interviewer asked, “What’s your favorite dish?”
“I like mugs,” Demi famously replied. “Because they’re very comfortable in your hand, and they hold hot things that you don’t have to touch.”
The moment quickly went viral, and clearly Demi hasn’t forgotten about it. With that in mind, her fantasy Housewives tagline was self-referential, confident, and effortlessly funny. It’s everything you expect from a tagline, and honestly? Some of the Real Housewives should take notes.
