Andy Cohen Reveals Teyana Taylor Was the First Person on WWHL To Do THIS in 16 Years…

16 years in the game, and Andy Cohen is still experiencing firsts over on Watch What Happens Live. Earlier this week, singer and actress Teyana Taylor visited the clubhouse to promote her new movie, One Battle After Another. Apparently, she gave one hug after another before the show started. Andy said he had never seen anything like it.

Teyana Taylor was the first guest to hug everyone in the room on WWHL in 16 years

Granted, the WWHL studio isn’t large, but Andy said that Teyana went around the room and hugged every single person ahead of the September 24 episode. We’ve come a long way from the days of social distancing!

“I have been doing this show for 16 years, I have never seen what happened right before we went on, and that is Teyana went and hugged every single person in this room, including all of our cameramen and our photographer,” Andy said of the special moment.

Teyana, who has been in the entertainment industry for decades, said that hugging was “instilled” in her as a way to show that she appreciates everyone involved in the production. It’s just a part of her love language.

“You know what’s crazy? I’m a director, and I have my own production company. So for me, that’s just my … it’s like instilled in me where I’m a hugger,” Teyana explained.

“I’m a hugger, so I have to hug everybody and all of the crew,” she continued. “I appreciate everybody, because it’s always bigger than who’s in front of the lens. It’s also who’s behind the lens, and it takes a village.”

Teyana’s appreciation went beyond just the people behind the cameras. Her love also extended to the audience members. They have a role to play, too, and Teyana made sure she didn’t exclude them either.

She said, “It takes a village, but even as a show … the beautiful guests that come, and they give us the claps, the laughs, the uhns, the ooh, the ahh. You know what I’m saying? Like, that makes the show. So I always want people to feel appreciated, especially on these big production days, you know?”

“You are amazing,” Andy replied.

Watch What Happens Live airs Thursday through Sunday on Bravo. Stream it the next day on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
