Ariana Madix isn’t the only Vanderpump Rules alum using her TV fame to pick up some acting jobs. Now that he and Tom Sandoval have closed their bar, Tom Schwartz is also looking at a possible career change.
When he’s standing at the podium at the Oscars, Tom should remember to thank his pal Lukas Gage, who hooked him up.
Lukas Gage got Tom Schwartz his first acting gig
Tom and Lukas, who was once rumored to be dating Tom’s ex, Katie Maloney, first met at a party at TomTom. On October 15, The White Lotus actor told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that he helped Schwartz get his first acting gig.
“Guys, I did this movie called Love Language,” he said. “Me and the writer, we talked about [how] we just refer to Vanderpump Rules the whole entire movie.”
According to Deadline, the upcoming film is a rom-com starring Bravo superfan Chloë Grace Moretz, Billie Lourd, Manny Jacinto and Anthony Ramos. Tom reportedly plays himself.
“He was actually good,” Lukas admitted to Andy. “He was excited to be there … We like Tom.”
Per Tom’s IMDB profile, this isn’t his first dip into the Hollywood wading pool. As fans know, he played himself on the one and done Stars on Mars. He was also an uncredited extra on Two and a Half Men and HBO’s vampire-themed True Blood.
Back in June, Tom confessed to Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe that he was a theater geek in high school. “I don’t know why I felt ashamed of it,” he said on Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe. “I was like, ‘Why would I deserve to be an actor?’ Like I was … almost aware of the long-shot odds of making it in Hollywood as a young lad, but I always wanted to be an actor.”
