What do the words “identity theft” and “fraud” have to do with Bronwyn Newport on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6? It could be a lot, or even a little, but either way, her estranged friend Meredith Marks had some thoughts about these terms during her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

As Bronwyn explained during Episode 6, “There are mistakes I made in college — we’re talking 20 years ago. I think I had an eviction notice after I left BYU, and I had to pay it later.” But also, “they’re saying that I allegedly committed crimes, current day, in the last year or so.” Specifically, “Identity theft, grand theft, fraud,” and “things listed under that penal code.”
Then, her details got murky. “What actually happened was almost 10 years ago, nothing recent. But it’s been a case that was dismissed and then later sealed, and I really, legally, can’t talk about what my involvement is in that,” she said. Meanwhile, Todd Bradley, her husband, advised Bronwyn not to go on their upcoming cast trip, where her frenemies might use these terms against her.
Cue Meredith’s muted responses on WWHL after Episode 6 aired. When Andy Cohen asked Meredith about her “first reaction” to these rumors plaguing Bronwyn, Meredith answered, “Shocked. A little bit of fear, of course, because you don’t really know what that means.”
But what was her reaction to Todd trying to talk his wife out of their upcoming crossover trip with the cast of Below Deck Down Under? “I can’t argue that he was necessarily wrong. I mean, it is kind of a dangerous space to go with that stuff looming and undefined,” Meredith said.
Regardless, Bronwyn is going on this trip. And all we can do now is wait and see how this plays out.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
