It’s the bromance of all bromances! Bravo fans know that Andy Cohen and John Mayer are as thick as thieves, and during a recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Andy dished on just how close their friendship is.
Recalling a recent night out with the Grammy-award winning singer, Andy said they were getting “so physical” together that even John felt a little off guard. Stories like these don’t help all of those dating theories, but they don’t care. A friendship like this can survive the rumors.
Andy Cohen and John Mayer enjoy a close friendship
Although stories about Andy and John dating have been plaguing the pair for years, the truth is that they’re just two pals who met through a mutual friend years ago. However, a typical night out might look more like a date if you didn’t know any better.
“We always sit on the same side of the booth. We sit next to each other, always,” Andy said on the October 29 episode of Call Her Daddy. “That is our spot.”
Alex asked Andy if the two ever hold hands during their outings, which was a no. However, the Watch What Happens Live host did say that he sometimes will find himself “sinking into” John as a night goes on. He recalled a recent boozy night at the Sunset Tower where the two got “so physical.”
“I was, kind of, using his body to tell a story about a guy,” Andy recalled. “I was in my cups a little bit. We were in a puddle of laughter.”
With all of that said, Andy is confident that he isn’t “secretly in love” with John, as Alex put it. They love each other as friends. But Andy thinks John does have some qualities that he’d like to see in a future partner.
“If I could find a gay guy that was him, it would be magic,” Andy said. “I am so grateful for the love that we have.”
