Survivor: Island of the Idols Episode 2 Recap: The Need For Speed

As host Jeff Probst stated during tonight’s Tribal Council, the game of Survivor really has a way of revealing the core of a person. And after 39 seasons, it also has a way of showing how some players can just never quite overcome repeating the same pitfalls, even though they’ve seen countless others make the same mistakes time and time again, season after season. It’s hard to believe, for example, that a player would have the gall (and the balls) to go to Tribal Council so confident that he wouldn’t even pack his belongings (as one contestant did tonight). Or that a player would think that this game hasn’t sped up to the point where “petal to the metal” is sometimes not fast enough.

As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Premiere Episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols. If you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap. It is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Survivor: Island of the Idols Premiere Recap: Season 39 Starts Off On Fire!

Welcome back y’all! Don’t let the Big Brother 21 Finale bring you down…CBS‘s night wasn’t all controversial! The first 90-minutes in fact, featured the premiere of Survivor‘s 39th (!!!) Season, entitled Survivor: Island of the Idols, and if there was any question as to the new era of Survivor casting (more on that in a bit), it was all put to bed with what seems to be an absolutely stellar cast of 20 newbies all vying for the 1-million dollar prize.

There is a major twist to this season that had many (like myself) feeling quite skeptical going in, and some question-marks surrounding the show and this season, and if it could possibly live up to the highly-anticipated Season 40 (airing in Spring 2020) that supposedly features a cast of all Winners. It was only one night, but me thinks we’re off to a great start!

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the show and have seen every episode since Season 1 (like me!), or whether you are returning to the show after taking some seasons (or some years) off…or even if you have decided to watch Survivor for the very first time: I welcome you! Now let’s dive in to the Premiere Episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols and find out what all the hype is about!

Big Brother 21 Finale Recap: Controversy Clouds The Night

Perhaps it’s fitting that this season of Big Brother ended the way it started: With controversy. Even Nicole (America’s Favorite Player y’all!) had asked for things to come full-circle during tonight’s Finale Episode at one point, and boy did they ever. But a terribly mismanaged Finale ended up sucking all the wind out of what is normally a celebratory and fun finish to everybody’s favorite Summertime guilty pleasure.

Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. If you are not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! Big Brother 21 Week 12 Recap: The Final Three Are Set…Who Will Win Big Brother 21?

It’s no cliché to say that people go crazy and make irrational decisions inside the Big Brother House…it’s a fact. From the comfort of our couches at home, it’s easy to pass judgment on the decisions that the house guests make or don’t make over the course of the Summer, as they have no contact whatsoever with the outside world. When you’re living in the Big Brother House, up can sometimes appear to be down, and right can disguise itself as left. That’s exactly what happened this past week on Big Brother, as we near towards the Season 21 Finale next Wednesday night, now less than one week away.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 11 Recap: The Long And Winding Road To Eviction

What a week in the Big Brother house! If you were just to look at Point A to Point B – from the beginning of this week to the end – you’ll find the outcome to be quite predictable. But man, that long and winding road that spans between this week’s start and finish proves that nothing comes easy on Big Brother, especially with only a few short week remaining in the game.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Survivor Season 39 – Island Of The Idols – Revealed!

Wait, where did the Summer go? It’s hard to believe we’re in September, let alone on the brink of Survivor SEASON 39!!! We’re now less than three weeks (!!!) away from the 90-minute Season 39 Premiere, and today the cast of the upcoming Survivor: Island of Idols was officially announced by CBS.

The show’s newest season will kick-off on Wednesday, September 25th at 8pm (EST), which – by the way – will be followed by the 90-minute Big Brother 21 Finale at 9:30pm (EST). 20 brand-new contestants vying for the million-dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor.

Big Brother 21 Week 10 Recap: A Double-Eviction For The Ages

I’ve thought long and hard about this, but I firmly stand by it: There is simply nothing in Reality TV that is more breath-taking, more nerve-racking, than Double-Eviction night of Big Brother. It’s somewhat become “must see TV” for fans of the show, who might opt to DVR a normal episode of Big Brother under normal circumstances.

But as I do every Double-Eviction, I kept myself off of Twitter and social media even though I desperately wanted to know the outcome, as I watched it on like a 20-minute delay (it’s a MUST to be able to fast-forward through those commercials on such an important evening). Watching the show live and not knowing the outcome is an absolute thrill, and not at all common in today’s “binge” culture. But seriously is there anything cooler than Double-Eviction? And this one especially my friends, did not disappoint.

Big Brother 21 Week 9 Recap: On A Zing And A Prayer

It was “Prank Week” in the Big Brother house, but the stakes this week couldn’t have been more serious. It was a pivotal week for the house guests, where front-runners finally emerged as the house got rid of one of the most dangerous (perceived) players of the season.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21.
