The Vanderpump Rules cast is all grown up! This season we watched three of the couples move into houses that look hilariously identical to each other. Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz got married in 2017. Next up were Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor, who got hitched last summer in a lavish wedding in Kentucky.
Pumps Rules co-star Lala Kent is marrying Randall Emmett in April, but their nuptials will not be televised. Beau Clark popped the question to Stassi Schroeder in a cemetery, and the couple is slated to tie the knot in Italy in October.
Kristen Doute was virtually invisible during Vanderpump Rules Season 7. Well, except for when she was plotting to take down her ex James Kennedy and when she fell on a table after a wine tasting. She tweeted a couple times about how she wasn’t getting a lot of screentime and “liked” comments from fans that echoed those sentiments.
The grass ain’t always greener on the other side, is it? Now, fastforward to Vanderpump Rules Season 8 and everybody is talking about Kristen. Most notably, she is at odds with her ex-best friends Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney. Kristen even (seemingly) messed with Brittany Cartwright’s feelings during a recent episode. Brittany was living her best life at Miami club…. until Kristen persuaded her to be upset that a bottle service girl was holding a sign that said “Don’t do it, Brittany,” which is a sign they hold during every. single. bachelorette. party.
When Vanderpump Rules first catapulted into the Bravo lexicon the appeal was that was its off the cuff and unpredictable cast members whose earnestly dysfunctional relationships anchored the show, and served as a highlight to all the other nonsense.
There was a magic in its untested authenticity that was like the early seasons of Real World or Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. Before these people realized they were going to become a phenomenon just for showing up. But alas it is now not the case. Lisa Vanderpump has now assumed the role of part Svengali/part David Copperfield; trying to make magic out of thin air and airheads.
It’s not working.
The demise of Kristen Doute’s friendships with Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney is a focal point of the current Vanderpump Rules season. Hell, it was even the focal point of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s joint bachelor/bachelorette party, at least based on the footage we got to see.
Brittany and Jax tied the knot in Kentucky last summer, but there are other Vanderpump Rules weddings on the horizon. Stassi got engaged to Beau Clark and they are planning a wedding in Rome, Italy. Kristen is not a member of the bridal party and, as of this moment, Stassi isn’t even sure if Kristen will get an invite, despite the fact that Kristen introduced the two of them.
The Jax Taylor and Tom Sandoval feud is still going strong. Tom ended up serving as one of the best men in Jax’s wedding after Jax demoted him, but they’re clearly not on good terms these days.
And I’m sure it doesn’t help that Jax has been talking shit about Tom’s girlfriend, Ariana Madix, in interviews and on social media.
The bachelor/bachelorette party “fun” continues tonight on Vanderpump Rules; i.e. the cast will continue to get drunk and argue in Miami.
The guys dress up as old men because, well, Tom Sandoval coordinated this party and it’s hilarious.
The Tom Sandoval vs. Stassi Schroeder showdown at the book signing for Stassi’s book Next Level Basic: The Definitive Basic Bitch Handbook is the biggest story on Vanderpump Rules Season 8 so far. Forget, the extremely vague feud between Stassi, Kristen Doute, and Katie Maloney or the ridiculous fallout between Jax Taylor and Sandoval over the “pre-bachelor party.”
There has always been an air of dislike between Stassi and Sandoval, ever since the start of the show, but usually their issues had to do with other people. Now, this issue is just between the two of them, well, the two of them, the whole cast, and all of the fans. Recently, Lala Kent dished on the argument during an episode of the podcast she hosts with her man Randall Emmett. Jax and Brittany Cartwright chimed in as well. And, yes, they were all #TeamStassi.
At this point, Vanderpump Rules Season 8 has centered around Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s wedding. During last night’s episode, the cast went to Miami for their joint bachelor/bachelorette party.
After some instigating from Kristen Doute, Brittany started to cry about a bottle service girl holding up a sign that said “don’t do it” because she took it as a diss toward her relationship with Jax. Obviously, that was just a standard template sign that they hold up for every bachelorette party. Unfortunately for Brittany, she will just have to get used to people talking about her relationship since, well, she is a reality TV star. That’s just a part of the game. Most reality TV couples really put themselves out there, except for one, according to Jax Taylor.
