If there’s one thing Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles agents like, it’s a quick, clean sale! However sometimes they have to really put their hardened negotiation skills to the test. On last week’s episode Josh Altman was able to get a deal closed in less than 30 minutes, while newbies David Parnes and James Harris had to pull a lot more tricks out of their sleeves to appease a difficult but important developer!
“Being in the real estate business for over a decade now, we have had deals that happen as quick as what you just saw and others that take years…yes, no joke, years,” Josh says. “You never know where you next deal is going to come from and how it will play out.”

This season on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles is like the final season of Parenthood. Waiting for something awful to happen. Unfortunately, we already know how things end on this show and we must wait to exhale every time Josh Flagg comes on the screen. Every phone call, every conversation, every mention of his grandmother’s name, Edith, is gut wrenching. And this week’s episode is no different. We know that her health is failing. And we know that Josh is carrying on with his work and life because that is what she would want him to do. While it is hard not to see how much pain he is in, the show must go on. A little trip down the Pacific Coast Highway just might be the distraction that he needs right now.
Back in Beverly Hills, David Parnes, who is out for a jog with Maxi and Bella, is summonsed by James Harris back to the office. Their ‘Rock Star’ client, Zach Vella, is in town from the East Coast. Yes, that Zach Vella! Fredrik Eklund’s number one developer on Million Dollar Listing New York. Where is Fredrik?? Why is he not with him in California? Ryan Serhant would be there if it were his client, right? Well, not so fast. This time it’s personal. Zach is searching for a place to put down roots with his fiancé, Michelle. Our poker faced developer is looking for a turnkey 4-5 bedroom home with lots of privacy and an ‘LA feel’ in Trousdale or west of Bel Air. ‘Find a steal’ he tells the boys. Easy peasy! James is concerned as there is a drought of inventory in the market for $10-15m homes in these areas.
Hmmm… there’s something fishy about Josh Altman‘s miraculous sale of the legendary Dorothy Chandler Estate. Luckily for us we’re good at sleuthing.
On last night’s Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles, Josh and his brother Matt landed the historic listing and were seen brokering a deal to sell it in record time for full asking price and a 5 day close.
“The Altman Brothers just raised the bar to a new level with the sale of the most famous estate in Los Angeles. Where others have not succeeded on this property…(Flagg, not surprised), The Altman Brothers proved why we are the difference in getting your house sold as opposed to just listed,” Josh brags about their sale.

It has been no secret that Josh Altman and Heather have called off their wedding. For now. But on last night’s episode of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, seeing him try on his custom inscribed tuxedo, ‘to a beautiful beginning’ on the lapel and ‘I’m sold’ under the collar, gave me the sads. Fortunately, his brother Matt, in his Yolanda Foster approved Hermes belt, will be there to help him get through the tough times. And carry him professionally as well.
The Altman Brothers have a Big Fish to catch. Up for grabs is the majestic Dorothy Chandler estate in the Hancock Park section of Los Angeles. A major deal in Josh Altman’s career. At the same time, he is supposed to be planning his client-focused wedding extravaganza with Heather, who is none too pleased to be meeting with the florist on her own. Josh senses that things are going south with his fiancé when she hangs the phone up on him. And Heather never hangs up on him.
When Million Dollar Listing LA stars Josh Altman and Heather Bilyeu called off their summer wedding, fans of the show immediately began to speculate how long until they broke up. Josh responded to that chatter right away, insisting they were more in love than ever, but we haven’t heard much from Heather since the news broke. Until now. Josh and Heather are speaking out, together, about the decision to postpone their wedding.
Josh says, “You won’t hear this very often, but it was probably the best thing for our relationship. At the end of the day, I think we kind of forgot who the wedding was for, and when you have cameras following you around most of the year — for the last four years — you forget that at the end of the day that’s gonna live a lot longer than Million Dollar Listing. It’s about us, and at the end of the day, that’s what was most important to us.”

Reality star sightings for this week include Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey attending Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna opening night at the Big Top at Atlantic Station in Atlanta.
Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley attend Kristin Cavallari’s new jewelry line launch in Beverly Hills. Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi hit the pumpkin patch with her favorite small people. The Robertson family headed to L.A. to support Sadie Robertson on Dancing with the Stars.
Also snapped this week: Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, Josh Flagg and many more!
The much anticipated return of fan favorite Malibu Madison Hildebrand, unfortunately, did not happen on last night’s episode of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. WTH??!! Bravo had duped viewers into thinking that he would be making an appearance this week. How could they do that to us?? The editing seemed a bit wonky last night. Hopefully, the producers have not cut him out of the show entirely and are just delaying our gratification. If they can bring back Bethenny Frankel on RHONY, they can work their magic to bring back our hottie by the sea. We want Madison! We want Madison! He was the yin to the Joshes yang. Now it’s just all yang. And modern box houses that everyone seems to be talking about this week. They know we want to see different real estate porn, right?! (Whispers) Malibu.
Speaking of modern box houses… Josh Altman has a new listing in West Hollywood with ‘Ilan the Developer’. This is the guy that he and Josh Flagg got in a fight over last season, which led to the slap heard around the world. Well, maybe just in Los Angeles. It was just a light dusting across the cheek, not an assault as ‘Josh the Jock’ likes to claim. Anyway, Ilan’s house is ready to flip. And Heather might have a buyer for him. This should be interesting! The house is actually not your typical cookie cutter new construction going up in the WeHo neighborhood. This 4171 sq. ft. Spanish contemporary has a terra cotta tiled roof, lofted ceilings, and a salt water pool. Ilan agrees to list it for $2.795m. A great deal if you want something slightly different than all the others and can afford it.
This season of Million Dollar Listing LA seems to be missing something. Um, besides Malibu hottie Madison Hildebrand, I mean. Josh Flagg will forever be my favorite. And I honestly do not mind the newbies, James Harris and David Parnes, because I absolutely love that they annoy Josh Altman so much. Still, I can’t pinpoint why, but this season’s vibe feels off to me.
Is it just me? One person for sure disagrees with me – Josh. And not the one I want to be my best friend forever.
About this week’s show, Josh Altman blogged, “I must say that was by far one of the most entertaining episodes yet. Between the agent drama, the client drama, and the wedding drama, it had me sitting on the edge of my desk chair. This has to be the most exciting season yet… minus Flagg, as there is nothing exciting about anything he does.”
