If you haven’t binged Netflix’s Selling Sunset yet, what exactly have you been doing? How can I describe it? It’s sort of like if Million Dollar Listing and The Hills had a baby who loved to watch Vanderpump Rules. Interestingly, Scheana Shay has already publicly started shit with one of the stars from the show, Crishell Stause.
Selling Sunset features some of the hawtest and baddest bitches in real estate. There are cliques, the bosses have clear favorites, and the houses are TO DIE for. Some viewers compared the show to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Eh, for the most part, I don’t see that. There is, however, one baddie who stands above the rest. She deserves elevation to the highest rank in the reality TV world. A promotion to Housewife! And that is Christine Quinn.
Well, Dorit Kemsley and husband PK Kemsley are on the
lam move once again. The Real Housewives of Encino Beverly Hills couple have surprisingly listed their home for sale, after living in it for only one year. Viewers might remember the sketchy details surrounding the “purchase” of the home in August 2019. Amid a plethora of legal and financial issues, Dorit and PK moved to the “trendy farmhouse” just steps away from other Encino denizen, Kyle Richards.
This season, we saw Dorit and PK’s efforts in home renovations. Their quest to make the new Encino property their “forever home”, a place where Jaggy and little Phoenix would frolic in a backyard surrounded by idyllic views of the San Fernando Valley… But times, they are a changin’, and I guess “forever” means roughly about 12 months. Dorit and PK are looking for a place to live once again, so it’s fair to ask, will there ever be a Beverly Hills Housewife that actually lives in Beverly Hills?
It looks like there is a war brewing between two of my favorite real estate shows, Million Dollar Listing LA and Selling Sunset! And the spark that lit the flame is none other than Andy Cohen of course. Perhaps Andy is a bit jealous that Netflix is stealing some of Bravo’s thunder in the realm of reality TV real estate shows?
Most Bravo fans know about Million Dollar Listing, but if you haven’t checked out Selling Sunset on Netflix yet, grab your popcorn and get started! Who wouldn’t want to watch twin brothers Jason Oppenheim and Brett Oppenheim dominate Hollywood Hills real estate with a group of (mostly) blonde real estate agents who only wear six inch stilettos? It’s glossy and fun, but the cast of Million Dollar Listing LA doesn’t seem to think so.
There have been many fights over the years on Real Housewives but few are as epic as the one between Real Housewives of New York’s Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon. Mention “Scary Island” to any Bravo fan and they will instantly know what you’re talking about. In fact, if you watched, it’s impossible to forget Kelly’s colossal meltdown. With the beautiful backdrop of St. John, she accuses Bethenny of “trying to kill her” while munching on a bag of gummy bears. Kelly went on to call Bethenny Al Sharpton until Bethenny finally snapped, shouting “GO TO SLEEP!” It’s actually one of my favorite gifs to use to this day.
Needless to say, it’s been bad blood between these two for as long as we can remember. They were never meant to get along and it made for the golden years of RHONY.
There was so much good content to come out of BravoCon, but I can’t help wondering about what we didn’t get to see. What was going down behind the scenes, behind closed doors, and after hours? Even a month after the inaugural event, there are new stories and bits of information trickling out. And I hope the tidbits just keep on coming.
On a recent Watch What Happens Live After Show episode, Kenya Moore and Andy Cohen dished on the weekend.
Looks like things are getting interesting for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Kyle Richards. Not only is Kyle wallowing in the success of her
highly anticipated clothing line, her husband Mauricio Umansky has some new developments to share as well. As you know, Mauricio created the incredibly fruitful real estate firm, The Agency. Mo’s company has been double-dipping in the exposure department, gaining recognition from both RHOBH and Million Dollar Listing LA.
Being well known can turn around and bite you in the backside because Mauricio has some explaining to do. Back in March of this year, Kyle’s husband had a bit of a situation. Mauricio and The Agency were sued for fraud when dealing with a massive Malibu estate. Then everything became rather muddy in the transaction. Obviously, Mo is denying any misrepresentation (don’t they all…) but the details speak for themselves. Mauricio requested to have the case dismissed but the judge was all, not so fast buddy boy. The courts ruled there was enough evidence of fraud to proceed with the case. Now Kyle is not wearing her caftans, she is hiding under them because Mauricio just got another lawsuit to add to his collection.
Dorit and PK Kemsley need a break, and it looks like they might have gotten one. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has had quite a year. After losing a dog in the worst adoption ever, Dorit also lost a good friend. In the midst of her personal drama, Dorit and PK were suffering financial drama as well.
Encino Beverly Beach by Dorit was under scrutiny from Dorit’s business partner. PK may or may not have had an emotional affair with some gambling tables. As Dorit’s relationships faltered, so did her bank account.
In an effort to
keep PK’s legs from being broken control their spending, Dorit and PK made the decision to unload Sam Nazarian’s their mansion in Beverly Hills. An open house, featured on Million Dollar Listing LA in January 2019 lead to a sobering update at the end of the episode. Two weeks after the event, Dorit and PK were robbed. They were among a slew of celebrities targeted by bougie thieves. Now, on the heels of moving into another rental home, Dorit and PK are breathing a sigh of relief that someone might be going to jail – and it isn’t them.
The event that Bravo fans have been waiting for is upon us. The first-ever BravoCon is going down November 15-17 in New York City. This announcement came a couple of months ago, but no other information was released until late last week.
The tickets are not on sale, yet, but they will be next week and there are options for different schedules and budgets. Although, the event isn’t cheap, by any means. Will this be the most epic event of all time? Or the reality TV equivalent of the Fyre Festival? Let’s hope for the former.
