Real Housewives of Dallas Season 4 has come to a close. The reunion ended with LeeAnne Locken cranking out some tears while apologizing to Kary Brittingham for her offensive comments about Kary’s Mexican heritage.
The cast and some viewers have come down hard on LeeAnne. In the meantime, LeeAnne’s wedding planner has been pushing a three-year-old video of Brandi Redmond seemingly mocking Asians. Neither LeeAnne’s remarks nor Brandi’s video is OK, but the timing of that is very suspicious. Deflection alert. Stephanie Hollman dished on LeeAnne’s reunion apology and the Brandi video during last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
Danielle Staub has gone out of her way to stay relevant with the hopes of securing a full-time spot on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Unfortunately for her, Bravo didn’t want to buy the cow if they could get the milk for free. Instead, Danielle got married, got engaged again, befriended Teresa Giudice, and pulled Margaret Josephs‘ hair allfor a part-time “Friend of the Housewives” spot on RHONJ.
She doesn’t get a tagline. She doesn’t get confessionals. And, of course, she doesn’t get what matters most: that full-time paycheck. Now, that she and Teresa are on the outs, there’s no chance that she will be on the show next season. I mean, come on, every other cast member cannot stand her. So, instead of just fading away or getting fired, Danielle recently announced her retirement from the show during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Yes, this is such a moot point since she hasn’t been a real cast member since Season 2 and she has zero relationships with current cast members, but here we are. It seems like she’s took a cue from the Jill Zarin playbook. Jill is constantly teasing a return to RHONY, but she too recently said she’s “done with the show,” although we all know she’d sprint to the set if production ever called her. This is because the show is done with her, not the other way around.
Real Housewives Of Dallas came to an end last night in a dramatic and intense reunion focused on whether or not LeeAnne Locken is racist.
We all knew that the bulk of Part 2 was going to be spent on this subject. So after D’Andra Simmons was given a platform to gush about turning around Hard Night Good Morning and salvaging her relationship with Mama Dee, Andy Cohen got right into the matter of LeeAnne’s behavior in Thailand and the racially charged comments she made about Kary Brittingham.
First of all, Andy is FED. UP! I’ve never seen him so combative or out and out confrontational towards a Real Housewife as he was with LeeAnne last night. Of course, LeeAnne was trying to blame production for everything she did, and if there’s one thing Andy despises it’s a Housewife who tries to blame Bravo for her actions. I’m surprised LeeAnne didn’t accuse editing of dubbing the phrase “chirpy Mexican” into her mouth.
Just like this show as a whole, Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Dallas reunion is all about LeeAnne Locken. Of course, we will revisit the L’Infinity dress debacle. D’Andra Simmons and Kary Brittingham can’t face too much heat for this, right? Especially considering the real issue of the season: LeeAnne’s comments about Kary and her Mexican heritage.
Sure, we have this non-feud between Stephanie Hollman and Kameron Westcott that earned them seats right next to Andy Cohen, but when it comes down to it, this is the LeeAnne Show, like it or not. Tonight is gonna be full of heavy topics, I’m sure: mainly these incredibly insensitive remarks from LeeAnne. The video of Brandi Redmond seemingly mocking Asians surfaced after the reunion finished taping.
Brandi Redmond is definitely one of those Real Housewives who isn’t afraid of letting it all hang out. During the first seasons of the Real Housewives of Dallas, she and BFF Stephanie Hollman often engaged in goofy escapades, sometimes amusing, sometimes not. This season, for the most part, Brandi was a little more reserved and her behavior was not as overtly attention-seeking.
Somehow, Brandi even managed to maintain a cordial relationship with messy LeeAnne Locken. Considering their track record, this was nothing short of miraculous. By Part 1 of the cast reunion, their relationship had soured and in upcoming previews, Brandi appears to call out LeeAnne for her racially-tinged comments directed towards Kary Brittingham in Thailand. Recently, however, a video surfaced of Brandi engaging in some inappropriate behavior of a similarly questionable nature.
Last night was part 1 of the Real Housewives Of Dallas reunion and it was more than abundantly clear that everyone was ready for the LeeAnne Locken stranglehold to end. Those hands… they are stuffed and swollen with filler and cannot hold on!! Even Andy Cohen was geared up for battle.
And then there was Kameron Westcott who made up her own language, which was a combination of gibberish and pig latin, and I’m pretty sure she prepared for this reunion by watching Legally Blonde and believing she was winning at court. (She wasn’t).
First Brandi Redmond updates everyone on the status of adopting Bruin’s sibling. Brandi and Bryan had made the decision to go through with the adoption but the birth mother unfortunately lost the baby. Brandi took the news hard and the only person she told was real-life BFF Stephanie Hollman.
Last night was the season finale of Real Housewives Of Dallas and I’m gonna miss these girls. Well except for LeeAnne Locken. I won’t miss her.
Last night showed us The Rise of The Kam as Kameron Westcott, our tall beautiful starling soared free from the barbed wire nest LeeAnne built for her on the side of a Highland Park mansion. HA — as if LeeANne could afford anything but a bus stop in Highland Park! Well, we know why the caged bird sings about baby elephants, right.
In Thailand, where LeeAnne’s xenophobia reared it’s ugly be-weaved and overly injected head, Kam wrestled with her conscience about whether or not to tell Kary Brittingham that LeeAnne not only called her THE C WORD, but made multiple slurs about her being Mexican. Like that little gem when LeeAnne affected an overplayed Mexican accent and asked Stephanie Hollman if Kary might be able to understand them better if they “spoke Mexican.” Newp – not racist at all!
After two great seasons (no, I’m not counting Season 1), Real Housewives of Dallas Season 4 has been a little ehhh. We continued to be subjected to the never-ending (yet boring) feud between LeeAnne Locken and D’Andra Simmons. They both dyed their hair the same
orange blonde color and claimed that there was infidelity in each other’s marriages.
Other than that, there really haven’t been many storylines, other than Stephanie Hollman and Kameron Westcott “feuding” because they just weren’t meant to be friends. It’s not that complicated, yet here we are. Who would have thought that the words “surface level” would be that upsetting? Well, after a season of pretty much nothing happening, LeeAnne gave us all something to talk about with her culturally insensitive remarks about new Housewife Kary Brittingham. She called Kary a “chirpy Mexican” and used the word “Mexican” a few times over, which is not acceptable. There’s no doubt that this will be the major discussion topic at the Season 4 reunion. Yes, it’s a big deal, and also because, again, nothing else really happened this season. Meanwhile, the Potomac ladies had a fire Season 4, something that I cannot say enough.
