There’s truly nothing better in my book than a Bravo crossover. It’s why I’m jumping in my seat for Bravo to air Winter House (I will never get used to Summer House Winter Charm) and the Real Housewives All-Stars special. Even singular episodes, like when Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel made a guest appearance on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. B and Kyle Richards go wayyyy back and it was everything to see them together on-screen. B shaded Erika Jayne. She kept her cold sense of humor around a bunch of glam valley girls. And, of course, there were SkinnyGirl margs. Sounds to me like Christmas morning.
Like I said, Kyle and Bethenny have history. They met in the 90s in LA and B even served as an assistant to the one, the only Kathy Hilton. The throwback pics are EVERYTHING and worth a deep-dive to see these two ladies starting out their adult lives, big hair and all. However, they both take (or in B’s case, took) their time on Real Housewives very differently. Kyle would have to leave RHOBH kicking and screaming, while B never wants to return. Kyle is putting on a front of close friendship among her co-stars while Bethenny isn’t afraid to lash out and burn bridges. Maybe that’s why their friendship lasted so long — because they both live on different coasts of the U.S. and don’t see each other that often. Let alone, they’ve never appeared full-time on the same show.
Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone, which means the Summer House crew is headed to the Hamptons to drink rosé and party all day. But this time around Hannah Berner will not be joining the Good Vibe Tribe, but to be fair, she’s not the best at making summer fun anymore. Hannah created a lot of nonsense last year, whether it involved her confusing relationship with Luke Gulbranson or getting freaky with fiancé Des Bishop in Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s bathroom. As long as Carl Radke returns every year, with his winning smile and a case of Loverboy in hand, I’ll be happy to watch.
Hannah decided to skip the Hamptons getaway this year so she’ll stick to laying in her own bed with Des while they both stare at their phones. She’s starting a comedy career as well, and who knows if any of the crew will want to go to her stand-up shows, considering the “jokes” she’s made about them. It does beg the question of who will be by Paige DeSorbo’s side this summer, and if Hannah is really ruining any chance of reconciling some of her friendships.
Series that were filmed during 2020 for Bravo were either a hit or a miss last year. With the coronavirus pandemic totally flipping everything on its head, the cast members from some of the shows just couldn’t bring it like they usually do. For example, something was really off with shows like the Real Housewives of Orange County and the Real Housewives of Dallas. Real Housewives of New Jersey brought it as always. And then some shows, like Summer House and Southern Charm, were a major surprise. They proved that no matter what’s going on in the world, there is always shade to be thrown and drama to be had.
Southern Charm took on the Black Lives Matter movement, several cast members getting COVID-19 and the exposure of Madison LeCroy’s FaceTime dates with Alex Rodriguez while he was still engaged to THE Jennifer Lopez. So there was no shortage of mess to be had or pots for Shep Rose to stir. And as for Summer House, the good vibes tribe tackled working from home from the Hamptons house. And all the extra time definitely proved to increase some tension between the roommates.
Bravo is also giving fans the gift of several new shows, including the Real Housewives All-Stars series and the Southern Charm/Summer House mashup. Dubbed Winter Charm by fans, the show will include the New York crew joined by Austen Kroll and newly single Craig Conover for a winter vacay. It’s unclear if Hannah Berner is involved now that she’s leaving Summer House for a comedy career or whatever. But no matter who’s there, the show is sure to be filled with plenty of Loverboys to go around and even more drama.
