The Hills star, Stephanie Pratt, talks to Us Weekly magazine this week about hating her body and her terrifying secret struggle with bulimia.
Stephanie opens up about her eating disorder for the first time, saying it was sparked by the pressure of appearing alongside her super-thin friends on the hit MTV reality show. I’m guessing the “super thin” friends would have to include Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt, and pretty much every female that ever appeared on The Hills.
Stephanie, who is described as being 5-foot-7 also reveals to US that she began bingeing and purging after watching a scene she shot with Lauren Conrad in 2007 after first joining the cast: “I was horrified. I remember saying, ‘I can’t believe how huge I look walking over to Lauren.’”
The cover story also teases about how Stephanie once attempted suicide. Hmm, will be reserving my personal comments on this one.

BBiiGG WWAAA!! her and spencer will do just about anything for the limelight! Loosing weight the right way [hitting the gym] or stuffing ur face then throwing up or not eating at all is a PERSONAL DECiSiON!! Don`t blame a show for ur choice! ppl make me sick!… think i`ll go throw up what i had for lunch and blame it on stephanie pratt by saying “WELL BEiNG THAT SHE WAS ALREADY SKiNNY AND FELT SHE WAS FAT MADE ME FEEL i TOO WAS FAT”!! get a life.. if u can`t hang and live with who u r, GET OUT!
Shes such a lier, the post below me totally says it all, if she wanted to lose weight she couldve done it another way if she was actually ‘determined’ to. Besides in reality speaking if she was TRYING to lose weight. SHE DEFINETLY DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB, BECAUSE SHES NOT SKINNY AT ALL.
Yu dont understand how she may feel. The poor gurl has been rideculed because she was a lil bigger nd so she didn’t kno how to handle it. She must have been under soo much emotional presure tht she jst turned to the easier thing, throwing up.
Yu say jst go work out, well how is she gonna do tht wen she dusn’t feel confident nd feel good about herself?
Those uf yu who call her stupid, put yourself in her shoes.
I totally agree with Shanice. Those of you who say that Bulimia is a choice have no idea what you’re talking about. Although it could be triggered by something traumatic (like, for example, seeing yourself on national television looking like a total cow beside your peers) it’s nothing that anyone ever chooses to do– often times you feel like you have no choice and I can understand where shes coming from in her case because I mean, seriously, how many of you could take a photo beside the likes of Lauren Conrad and then feel good about your self image after seeing that photo?? Lauren is 5′6 and 119lbs (http://www.celebritybeautybuzz.com/index.php/2008/04/how-the-hills-girls-stay-skinny/) her BMI is 0.7 points shy of Anorexia. Give the girl a break.
Wow, none of you can spell.
being bulimic IS a personal choice as some ppl have already said on here. i would know because i AM bulimic, i am NOT proud, but the very instant when i was making myself puke on purpose for the first time, i HAD the decision to stop myself before starting this horrible habit. but i didnt. and each time i go throw up, i HAVE my own personal choice to continue what im doing or to stop it all together. bulimia is a mental disorder and its really complicated to just tell yourself to just not eat when another side of you is saying “it’s ok to eat, just make sure you throw it up asap.”
if you ever were/are bulimic, then you would understand.
and if you’re not, show some sympathy for steph. a million ppl who watch the hills KNOW she is bigger than the other girls. regular people like us only know a couple hundreds of ppl who arent all criticizing us on our appearance.
