It is the battle of the books amongst the cast of the Real Housewives of New York City, and so far Jill Zarin seems to be losing… badly. First came Amazon-gate two weeks ago when it was revealed Jill assumed a false name on amazon.com and proceeded to threaten someone who gave her book, Secrets of a Jewish Mother, a bad review, before then leaving herself a good review.
It doesn’t end there however, according to a new report by theDailyBeast, Jill asked one of their reporters to leave her a good review after hearing the reporter liked her book. According to the reporter, she declined Jill’s offer, but Jill had another idea. “Can you go under an assumed name?” Jill asked.
The reporter declined again but the relentless Jill would not drop it. “I don’t know, you could just say you loved the book,” Jill said, “Anonymous. Is that so bad?” The reporter declined for a third time during which Jill told her she could just have her boyfriend do it instead. Aah, that crafty Jill!
Unfortunately for Jill, the good reviews she has left for her book simply can’t compete with the pile of negative reviews the book continues to receive. A quick visit to amazon shows Jill’s book has an astonishing 115 negative reviews compared to Alex McCord and hubby Simon Van Kempen’s book, which has only received 1 negative review to date. But this is where the new scandal comes in. See the one negative review for Silex’s book was made on April 29th, the same day the husband and wife duo appeared on Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens’ and made fun of Jill for reviewing her own book.
A lot of people are now suspecting that the person who gave Alex and Simon their lone negative review was none other than Jill Zarin herself, or someone close to her. Why you might ask? Well, a quick look at the reviewer, J. Samples’, shows them leaving only a total of 4 reviews – a negative review for Silex’s book, a negative review for one of Bethenny Frankel’s books, and a positive review for Countess LuAnn’s new sucky song. When you read the negative reviews left by J. Samples, it becomes very obvious they did not read Alex & Simon’s or Bethenny’s books.
Now unlike the previous review scandal, there’s no proof that this J. Samples account belongs to Jill. For all we know it could be a crazed Jill fan. However based on Jill’s previous actions, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if she was the one behind this all.
UPDATE: It seems the negative comment for Silex’s book has been removed, either by Amazon or J. Samples. Either way, the negative comment is below -
“I had thought I had seen everything. But to see these two clowns write a book about parenting is hysterical! Their cast mate Bethanny Frankel once said of them and I quote “These two would climb through a vent to get into a good party!” Well, it seems that they followed Ms. Frankel through a vent and crawled their way into a publishing house! How else could this have gotten published? Let’s review. Their kids are animals, appear dumb and disoriented, lack manners and are unkempt. They have also been seen on their television show, tearing apart a party at a lovely eatery and climbing up and biting the Countess Luann’s leg! And I am suppose to listen to anything these “parents” have to say?? As for these parents, they are strange, sexual deviants, and are broke. They are self claimed to have met on CRAIGSLIST for a SEXUAL encounter! They reside in Crooklyn, New York, in a townhouse that could be used for an S&M movie. Gay husband included! Scary stuff. I honestly hated this book. Chapter 6 was worthless and the parts that say they are “lessons” are a joke. The writing is poor and the book itself is poorly edited. Very little worthwhile material. Don’t open the cover folks, Johan might pop out and bite you too!!!”

At this point, the whole Amazon-gate debacle has gone viral. She can’t undo her unethical and dishonest behavior.
I think that now, Bravo’s integrity is at stake, as is Andy Cohen’s personal and professional integrity, and for that matter – Kodak’s integrity. How can they keep her as a national spokesperson for their products, knowing that her moral character is so far out of whack?

I know many of you don’t like Jill. But I would rather read a book by Jill than a book by Alex and Simon.

Yep, they see them before we do RebeccaJ. I seriously can not understand how this woman can justify her behavior this season so far, she has really been awful, not just the Bethenny thing although that is huge of course but everything eles also. She really should be ashamed of herself, I really think for some reason she thought she was going to get some kind of sympathy or something this season Lord knows why she does not deserve one bit of sympathy.
The more Jill tries to get herself out of the moronic predicament (she’s gotten herself in) the more she buries herself!

It’s one thing to act so badly on a tv show, it’s another to act so badly in real life. Jill is a mean, vile and selfish woman. She has shown that she is capable of doing anything to anyone as long as she makes herself look good.
I was a Jill fan until this season. After re-watching the past two seasons I question why I never saw the true Jill in those two seasons because the red flags are certainly there.
I hope that she does not return next season but if she does then “I am done” with the Bravo channel. If Bravo can condone this type of behavior for ratings then I refuse to be a part of the game. Jill’s behavior is wrong on so many levels. She can never make amends in my eyes. I think if Jill returns next season she will still be playing the victim and still putting Bethenny and Alex down at every opportunity she gets even if B nor A return for next season. I really dislike Jill and just want her to disappear off my t.v.

It’s pretty clear that this “J. Samples” is a spoof. Apparently all the reviews came out after the Amazongate scandal. Someone got very creative and made it appear as if it was Jill. If you look at the wish list is shows you all of Barbara Streisand albums, red hair dye. Very clever but too obvious
Still don’t like Jill and normally I wouldn’t put it past her.

The RH-NY show should be ending by June 10 when Bethenny’s Getting Married show is supposed to start. With the ‘B’ being so pregnant, Bravo will probably begin taping the reunion soon.

Jill is absolutely behind this!!! Using the Bethenny comment, was a way to put a rift between Alex and Bethennys friendship. That review is so LOW-RENT, just like JILL!!!

I honestly think that Jill Zarin may have lost her mind. Why is she so aggressive and cruel? What is she expecting to accomplish? Why is she intolerant of people with differing opinions and lifestyles? I think she should think about a psychopharmacologist to help her with her delusions and personality disorder. A damaging, vindictive woman apparently? Very sad.
Jill did not leave a bad review for Alex and Simon. I, J. Samples, DID! I hope you people never really need to solve a crime. Your detective work and conclusions stink!
I DO believe Zarin left the review of the Silex book. Reading the review, you can match much of what was said to Zarin’s own comments about Silex and kids on TRHNY show!
This review of Alex and Simon’s book has to be written by Jill or someone she solicited to post it because I saw the show where a reference is made to one of Alex’s children climbing up LuAnn’s leg and no mention is made of her being bitten. If it wasn’t on the show … then this review has to be from someone on the inside.
I can believe it is Jill. She has shown her true colors – is materialistic, jealous and vindictive.

I understand you’re getting up there and maybe even getting a little insecure. You are too mature and intelligent to behave this way. Do you not realize that you appear to be very jealous, envious, and borderline insane at times? You really need to move on and take care of your husband and daughter and treat them right!
