During one of Andy Cohen‘s radio shows this week (Live with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM), Jenny McCarthy stopped by to chat with him about The Real Housewives of New York. The two chatted about Bethenny Frankel‘s behavior this season and Jenny revealed which Real Housewives have been her favorite and least favorite to interview on her own radio show.
Jenny says that RHONY has been so fun to watch this season but she’s noticed a turn in the audience against Bethenny. “You want there to be some drama, but you are smart to know when an audience turns on somebody, you’re a little wary. Do you have a talk with Bethenny since she’s like your queen?”
Andy defends her and compares her to NeNe Leakes, “Here’s the thing about Bethenny: her whole attitude this season and every season is ‘I give zero fucks and this is who I am.’ So, she’s really prepared to take whatever lumps come to her. She stands by everything she did. What I’m trying to say is, I can’t stand in the way of her being however she’s going to be. It’s kind of similar to NeNe. NeNe is who she is and she makes no apologies for it and that’s it.”

He adds, “I think the thing that always keeps people coming back to or being interested in Bethenny is there’s a vulnerability about her, that as loud as she can get or as aggressive..” Jenny interjects “there’s an 8 year old girl crying inside” – Andy agrees. “It’s that vulnerability and she also has a sense of herself that if she starts being aggressive, she will check herself before you can, or before it festers for too long.”
Jenny adds, “so what you’re saying is she finds her own accountability quick?” Andy agrees, “She really does. I think she’s a really interesting person to watch and I will say this: the last three episodes of the season are some of the best. I’m telling you, it’s not to be believed.”
Jenny jokes that Bethenny is like mafia now, she lays in bed during her RHONY scenes and everyone comes to her.
Andy asks Jenny about her experiences interviewing the Real Housewives. He asks her which ones have been her favorite and least favorite to chat with on the Jenny McCarthy Show (formerly Dirty, Sexy, Funny). She reveals that Ramona Singer is the worst. “Ramonacoaster gives you nothing. She’s like ‘no, I can’t talk about that, I can’t talk about that.’ She’s an ADD interview nightmare because even though she’s like flippy and fun, there’s no substance and I’m always like ‘Ramonacoaster, COME ON!’.” She adds, “Bethenny is always a good interview, except that it’s always very intense.”
Her other favorites? RHOBH‘s Lisa Rinna and also Luann de Lesseps. “Luann was actually pretty decent and I gotta say, Lisa Rinna because she knows how to talk. I love the people that give some dirt. And a lot of time your girls come in there and say ‘I can’t talk about it’ and I’m like ‘you gotta give me something!’.”
