Minus that cake fight, this Real Housewives of New Jersey season has been relatively drama-free for Melissa Gorga. Now her former business partner Jackie Beard Robinson is coming for her and the king of Bravo himself, Andy Cohen, with a dramatic lawsuit.
Jackie is suing Melissa and Andy for THIRTY MILLIONS DOLLARS because of the “defamation and infliction of emotional distress.” Melissa shared that Jackie cleared out her store during an episode of the show. Andy brought this up while Melissa was a guest on Watch What Happens Live, so that’s why his name is attached to this lawsuit as well.
Page Six has obtained Southern Florida District Court documents that confirm the start of a trial on August 6, 2018. Jackie is upset that she “looks like a felon on TV.”
Melissa is a cast member and Jackie is not. Of course, Melissa is going to be shown in a better light- especially after Jackie took all of the previous Envy merchandise and brought it to sell off via Posche, the clothing store owned by Melissa’s nemesis Kim D.
Jackie claims that she removed her belongings “in broad daylight” on January 1 after Melissa supposedly, “misappropriated over $37,000 from Envy without authorization.” On the show Melissa claimed that Jackie “snuck into Envy in the middle of the night and stole clothing” in a very dramatic fashion.
A Bravo spokesperson told Page Six, “this lawsuit has no merit.” Neverthless, Jackie’s lawyer Larry Klayman insists, “Jackie is very pleased that this serious case of defamation will move swiftly to trial and she is confident of ultimate success!”
