I haven’t seen the viewer numbers for last night’s MTV VMAs yet, but I wonder if it’s down by a lot compared to last year, since some genius decided to put it on the same night as the Game of Thrones season finale! Because of that, I skipped the VMAs for the first time in years, but priorities. Game of Thrones even trumped reality TV viewing last night. #sorrynotsorry
Anywhoodle. Here’s a few snaps of the few reality stars who showed up for the big night in L.A. Mostly Teen Mom stars, like Jenelle Evans, Gary Shirley, Leah Messer, Amber Portwood (and her new guy) and Farrah Abraham, who brought along daughter Sophia. Check out the photos below (including Nev Schulman, Christina Milian and more) and tell us which you look you like the best.
Did you watch the show last night? Did I miss anything good?
Well, Farrah Abraham has forgiven Dr. Drew, and now they’re both counselors here to teach us how to have functional family relationships and deal with life. Um.
The Teen Mom OG star chatted with Dr. Drew and his co-host Bob Forrest (Celebrity Rehab alumni) on his podcast, where Farrah opened up about her complex family dynamics, what she learned from appearing on WeTV’s Family Boot Camp, and how everything is Debra Danielsen‘s fault. Dr. Drew was also available to diagnose Debra’s mental state and praise Farrah for being so smart.
Brandi begins by gushing that Amber is a “gangsta!” and marvels that she’s been on TV for a decade yet still stays “relatable.” Amber takes issues with the word relatable, because most people do not have a “telescope” on their deeply personal issues. Amber explains that she spends so much time filming ‘on the couch’ because, “I don’t feel comfortable going out into a public place and talking about … cause in my life some issues I feel are very personal. For other people to just be listening or eavesdropping, it makes me uncomfortable and I’ll shut myself [down]. I want to be truthful.”
Amber Portwood is finally thinking with her brain and not, uhh, her desire for a TV wedding. The Teen Mom OG star has decided to call off her wedding to many-times-over deadbeat dad Matt Baier.
I think we can all rejoice in this good decision. Although, before we get too cocky, Amber and Matt are still very much together to milk this drama for the new season, but after recent information surfaced, Amber’s not ready to make a lifelong commitment just yet.
This week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 continues to center around the drama that Kailyn Lowry and Jenelle Evans always bring to the table. Kail is giving us a severe case of whiplash when it comes to her moods on soon-to-be ex, Javi Marroquin, and Jenelle is steady as ever in her plot to take back full custody of Kaiser as soon as Nathan Griffin slips up (and he doesn’t keep us waiting long). Chelsea Houska continues to prepare for the arrival of her baby with fiancé Cole DeBoer while Leah Messer shuttles the girls back and forth between dads and mumbles her way through life.
We open with Jenelle calling Barbara Evans because she is supposed to get Jace for the weekend but a last minute work (work?!) trip has come up in New York and she wants permission to take Jace along. Barb is not feeling it because that would mean Jace would have to miss most of the day of school in order to attend. Jenelle goes from a polite ask to level 8 on the petulant teenager scale of rudeness as she explains to Barbara how work is a guy from the UK who wants her to promote some product and she can’t just tell someone from another country to work around Jace’s school schedule.
Obviously, it takes a special person to spawn the wunderkind that is Farrah Abraham. And that special person is Debra Danielsen. Which is why Farrah’s equally controversial mom landed her own MTV special, Being Debra.
As it turns out, Being Debrais about more than just bringing Farrah onto this earth or getting scammed out of thousands by online lovers – it means becoming a menopausal mama rapper, called Debz OG, who is in the process of starting her own record label to bring people together through music. I suppose Debra is just following in her daughter’s footsteps and blowin’ all the haters away.
This week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 revolves around the self-created drama of both Kailyn Lowry and Jenelle Evans but what else is new? There are a lot of similarities between their two very different lives: both are selfish and over dramatic. But the similarities end when it comes to how they deal with things – Jenelle won’t shut up about whatever she thinks is going on and Kail refuses to talk about it unless it benefits her.
This week, Kail is so wrapped up in going back to school, we’re only subjected to the drama she has left behind for Jo Rivera and Vee Torres, while Jenelle is busy with delusions of everyone vying for her affections. Leah Messer and Chelsea Houska get lost in the mix of these story lines, as usual. Yes, I know, reality TV is all about drama and things happening and it would be a pretty boring show if it weren’t for this, but nevertheless, it does get tiring to watch two people who are so emotionally stunted.
