Finally we’re seeing some more upbeat scenes on the Real Housewives of Orange County with Shannon Beador, even if those scenes involve squeezing one’s flab and celebrating love with dragon bracelets! This week, Shannon expresses relief that the show is highlighting some of the healing in her marriage, as well as her body.
“I like this episode,” begins Shannon. “Finally you are seeing some fun and positivity!!!” As for her choice to bare it all at the gym, she remarks, “I know, what was I thinking??? I lifted up my shirt and squeezed all the flab on my stomach. I thought that it would motivate me to finally tone up my body and exercise. It has. As most women enter their 50’s, we get a little thicker around the midsection! Today I can say that I am still not the biggest fan of exercise, but I like the results and I am actually becoming stronger and more toned. David is such a workout fanatic so it’s nice that we can do another activity together.”

“Dr. Tim,” Shannon’s new trainer, was her daughters’ soccer coach, and she admits she’s been meaning to get on board with working out at Pacifica Wellness for years. “I just never made the time or effort. But his exercises have allowed me to slowly build up. He focuses on sports medicine and physical therapy so it’s great that he uses ultrasound and acupuncture on those days where my older body has strained itself a bit!”
Shannon also gushes that the Valentine’s Day dinner she had with David this year was one of her “highlights of filming!” She praises David for his thoughtfulness, in word and deed. “He was thoughtful in every way possible! He loves John Hardy bracelets and I have given him a few with dragons on them because we were both born in the Chinese year of the dragon. But the most special part of the night was when David read me his card. He usually buys cards with the words or poem already printed and then signs his name (which is great!). This time he wrote his own words and I was blown away.”
Seeing David get emotional and tear up a bit (something Shannon says he rarely does), also touched her. “It was on this night that I knew for certain that David and I were going to make it,” she claims. “He said things to me that I never thought possible after our ordeal. The love I saw from him was deep. I will never forget this touching night!”
An emotional Valentine’s dinner was followed by the fun – and sadness – of bowling night, where Shannon recalls, “It was so painful to hear Vicki [Gunvalson] matter-of-factly say that her mother would watch Brianna’s boys if they went away. It is so hard to watch her hurting.”
The fun bus picked up steam again when Vicki brought up the idea of a trip to Tahiti, though! Shannon shares, “I was so excited to hear her announcement that we were going to Tahiti! She and I could both use a fun girls trip at this time!” While it may be no Turks and Caicos in terms of straight up #HousewivesInsanity, Shannon closes her blog by teasing “an off the chain, crazy, and amazing trip!” in the coming RHOC episodes.
