I had no idea that there was a Mother of the Year Award in the fashion industry, but I’m not really surprised that Yolanda Hadid just won it. I mean, her daughters Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are supermodels and her son Anwar Hadid is a model as well. Who else has birthed that many top models?
Sure, I have no idea who else would actually be in the running for this kind of award, but apparently is a thing at the Fashion Los Angeles awards. Sure, I’ve never heard of that either, but I’m no fashion expert.

Apparently this was only the third annual Fashion Los Angeles awards, so maybe that’s why I’m unfamiliar, but it really does seem like new award shows are popping up all the time. Not only did Yolanda receive this award- with abundantly unclear parameters and and no indication of her competitors- but her daughter Gigi won something as well.
Gigi won an award for Best Design Debut for her collection with Tommy Hilfiger– yes, that same collection Lisa Rinna’s daughter Delilah Belle Hamlin modeled for that Lisa could not stop bragging about on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
E! News reports that Yolanda had the most Yolanda thing to say about the honor: “I’m just honored to be a mom every day. I love being a mom. Every day I feel like it’s a blessing.” If you follow Yolanda on Instagram (or just perused her account because you were too overwhelmed by the constant posts to actually follow), you can see that her life is her kids. She is always posting about them and promoting their work, so I guess if anyone was going to receive an arbitrary award for mothering in fashion it’s Yolanda.
I wonder if this was filmed for her new reality show?
