Vanderpump Rules Cast Member Lala Kent Admits That She Is An Alcoholic

This season on Vanderpump Rules, Lala Kent took the girls to Solvang for wine tours (on a private jet, of course). The only surprising part of the trip is that Lala is the one who planned the trip, yet she was sober the entire time. Why plan a wine tasting if you are not going to sip the wine? Maybe do a different activity instead?

At the time, she claimed that she and Randall Emmett made a pact to stay sober after she got wasted and broke a hurricane-proof window. Recently, she confessed that the severity of the situation goes far beyond one drunken night.

A March 18 People article quoted Lala’s recent Instagram Story videos. In the videos, Lala admitted that she is an alcoholic. She also shared that she is currently enrolled in Bill Wilson’s Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step program.

Lala told her followers, “Five months ago, I came to the realization that I am an alcoholic, and I am now a friend of Bill W., which you will never know how much this program means to me [and] has given me new life.”

Aside from trying to abstain from alcohol this season, Lala’s other major storyline this season is her father’s passing and how it has affected her. She even lashed out at Raquel Leviss for mentioning her father during the last episode, which happened to be on the same day that she made this Instagram announcement. Lala’s fight with Raquel spiraled into screams aimed at James Kennedy and Billie Lee. And this all went down while she was wearing a knock-off of Jennifer Lopez’s infamous green dress from the 2001 Grammy Awards.

In her Instagram Story revelation, Lala confessed, “I’m so grateful that I have this program and that I can mourn him.” She also said, “The program has allowed me to sit down and remember my dad in a clear frame of mind, and remember what he brought to my life, what he meant to me, what he taught me.”
