Lisa Rinna’s Daughter Delilah Belle Reveals Rehab Stay & Mental Health Issues

It can’t be easy growing up with two famous parents. Being raised in a city where looks can get you almost anywhere and there is a heavy emphasis on appearance. Lisa Rinna has brought up two daughters in Los Angeles. Her lifestyle and marriage to Harry Hamlin have been featured since she joined Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Their children, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray, were then thrust into the public’s eye.

Piggybacking on the modeling success of Yolanda Hadid’s kids, Lisa found herself in the role of momager. Delilah and Amelia went from working in a deli to signing modeling contracts with a lucrative agency. They began traveling, showing up on catwalks, and participated in print campaigns. But these girls are young and perhaps weren’t ready to tackle a profession that lacks in… emotional stability. Now Delilah is sharing a bit of what she went through, as she tried to navigate life in the fast lane.

On a recent episode of RHOBH, Lisa’s daughter Amelia disclosed her struggle with anorexia. Lisa presents as a concerned parent. But being a Hollywood actress, Lisa clearly probably diets. She celebrates carrying a bag of pills in her purse. Lisa has also altered her own looks in an effort to “improve”. She basically lives on camera. Would these habits ever influence others? Thankfully, Amelia is in recovery and wants to use the tools she has learned to help those suffering from eating disorders.

Oldest daughter Delilah has faced some battles as well. Viewers watched as Delilah moved to New York to conquer her freshman year at college. Delilah began dealing with some demons not featured on RHOBH. These issues could not be wrapped up with a dramatic dinner conversation in a sixty-minute episode.

Delilah opened up to Page Six and said, “This time last year I was in rehabilitation, “she shared. “I moved to New York to start my journey as a student at NYU. Not long after I moved to New York I began having terrible depression. I started attracting negative people into my life because my thoughts were so negative.”

Delilah explained as she was pursuing a modeling career, she became “trapped in a severely unhealthy relationship.” It went on for eight months. “I couldn’t get out of the relationship because I thought I was deserving of it,” she said. “In February I called my mom, packed some bags, and took the soonest flight back to LA. Two weeks later I was admitted into a rehab facility.”

On the bright side, Delilah was fortunate to have parents with the ability to financially afford the personal care she required. Delilah admits she was living an unhealthy lifestyle that was “detrimental to her mental health”, so she called her mom and requested help. Good on Delilah for reaching out. Good on Rinna for raising Delilah in an environment where she felt comfortable getting assistance.

“I knew the way I was living was unhealthy and detrimental to my mental health so I called my mom and told her I needed help,” Delilah added. BACK IN MY DAY “living unhealthy” didn’t necessarily mean chowing down on McDonald’s for every meal, but no specific details were given. There were no mentions of drugs or alcohol. The following June, Delilah returned to rehab and stayed a full sixty days. She said, “I worked through traumas and self-love. But most importantly I learned what self-respect meant.”

Lisa is proud of the maturity and grace, her daughters have shown. Entertainment Tonight shared Lisa’s now-expired Instagram Story, “First of all I want to say how proud I am of both our girls.” Then she mentioned something Delilah did not include. “I am in awe of how brave and courageous they are. In regards to Delilah’s recent post, I think it’s time to discuss the condition that started it all – PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcoal Infections.)”

According to Lisa, Delilah’s condition is the result of a strep infection in her youth. Certainly, not a side effect of scrutiny, repeated dieting, or being propelled into an unforgiving modeling industry. While only 10% of people suffer from this condition, Lisa says, “[It] caused serious anxiety and multiple phobias. Thankfully we found the appropriate therapies and over time she is doing much better.”

Whatever the cause of Amelia and Delilah’s conditions, the important thing is the two young women are actively getting help. Delilah maintains her mother’s help was the “best thing that ever happened to her”. Hopefully, the utmost care, and not the spotlight, will be the focus of their recovery and well-being going forward.
