Captain Sandy Yawn Hannah Ferrier

Hannah Ferrier Says This Is Her Last Season Of Below Deck Mediterranean; Rumor Has It She Got Fired & Didn’t Quit

Below Deck Mediterranean has hit the ground running with the season 5 premiere airing this week.  Chief stewardess Hannah Ferrier wasted no time in being annoyed this season. It started almost immediately when she greeted her first surprise co-crew member and bosun, Malia White. It’s like she already can’t be bothered by coworkers of season’s past. In case you missed it, there are some teasers of tension between these two from Captain Sandy Yawn.

Hannah’s attitude only gets worse when Hannah meets new stewardess Lara Flumiani. We all saw in the season trailer that Lara would fill the role of stewardess who challenges Hannah’s management style this year. That became even more clear when we watched this year’s version of tablescape drama emerge. Before the yacht even leaves the dock for it’s first voyage you can tell Hannah is already over this charter season.

Recently, Hannah told Entertainment Tonight “I think I’m probably done.” What else is new? Hannah continued saying, “I learned when I first started yachting in my very early 20s, you know, I would see these women who were in their late 30s, 40s, sitting at a bar, getting wasted with 20-year-olds living in a tiny cabin, and I was like, I don’t want [that]. I want this to be a good, fun, enriching experience that allows me to travel a lot, but I don’t want to get to the stage where I’m locked into yachting and there’s nothing else in my life except that.”

Interestingly, Hannah finished her thought by saying, “It’s a bit different if you’re captain, but as a chief stew? They just don’t seem like very happy people to me.” When is the last season we saw Hannah happy though? If this is the metric she’s using to decide when to move on, why is she still here? Well, she actually addressed that!

Hannah added to her comments, “I think that with yachting, you really have to be done-done with it before you can properly walk away, otherwise you’re constantly questioning yourself about, did I do the right thing? Should I have done one more season? Could I have done this?… I think probably a part of me knew that before going into this season.”

Last year we watched Captain Sandy literally ask Hannah to do her job. In response, Hannah said she “doesn’t have motivation.” I can’t say I disagree. This year, Hannah is apparently flipping that attitude saying, “I definitely went into this season going like, I’m here to, like, give the guests the best experience they could have.” But that may be where it ends. Hannah added, “Is this something that I wanna do even for the next two or three years? Probably not.”

While Hannah says she is done with the show, rumor has it she didn’t actually quit the show. Page Six she actually got fired reported that.

If she leaves, this will be the second chief stew lost this year after Kate Chastain’s exit from her franchise as well. I don’t know if my cold dead heart can take it!
