Kyle Richards is having quite the season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I say that because she’s known for being front and center in most of the drama. And this year? Not so much. She’s started to bond with sophomore housewife Garcelle Beauvais. And it doesn’t hurt that sister Kathy Hilton has joined and made us love Kyle just a little bit with how cute their sisterly relationship is. Plus, I loved that Kathy dished on Kyle’s childhood nickname – Doogie. It’s been hard for me to call Kyle anything but from that point forward.
But Kyle/Doogie has always had her own drama – mainly her well documented panic on the show. She is highly anxious and highly allergic to a few things. Who could forget her allergic reaction to horses when riding in the Netherlands. And we are familiar with her white knuckled terror flying on planes. I can relate and pop a Xanax every time I fly. But one of Kyle’s well known phobias are bees, in which she is highly allergic. Unfortunately for her, a recent run in with the insects proved to be quite scary.
As reported by Taste of Reality, Kyle shared the traumatizing event on her Instagram stories. Kyle posted a series of pictures, the first one being her hooked up to oxygen while lying in a hospital bed. She shared text over the picture, which said, “So this happened yesterday….I walked into a hive of bees and was stung multiple times. If you know me at all, you know I am highly allergic to bees and am terrified of them.”
She also included a video of her trying to run into her house, then ultimately jumping in the pool to get away from the bees. Kyle continued, “My family wasn’t home and for whatever reason the people who work for me couldn’t hear me screaming for help. My landline wouldn’t dial 911 and my epi pen was defective and wouldn’t open.” Omg how scary.
Kyle went on to say, “I share this story with you because I sometimes don’t bother to take my epi pen with me. I also don’t know why I couldn’t get mine open to work. It’s important to look on YouTube and watch the videos of how to use it. There are different types of epi pens and and they each work differently. But also always call 911 even if you are able to use your epi pen as they have other medications to help breathing etc.”

She concluded by posting a picture of her with the firefighters who helped her. Kyle said they came to check on her the day after and admitted, “Still looking like a hot mess with my pool hair and sting marks.” She also hashtagged “support your local fire department.”
I genuinely feel sorry for Kyle. In the last pic, you can clearly see a giant pee sting right on her forehead. And I can’t imagine how scary the whole situation was for her. We are glad she’s ok and wish her a speedy recovery!
