Kelly Dodd’s Husband Rick Leventhal Explains Deleting Photos Of Himself Dressed As Alec Baldwin With A Gun

We all know by now that Kelly Dodd doesn’t avoid controversy. As if her time on Real Housewives of Orange County wasn’t enough evidence, she is completely unhinged on social media. And after her firing, it just got worse. Hard to believe a housewife could be so openly cruel when it came to things like the pandemic. But Kelly seemingly had no qualms about it. So not only is Kelly the worst, but she also managed to find a husband who is the worst.

Rick Leventhal, who we briefly saw in Kelly’s last season of RHOC, is a former journalist. I say former because we all know he was canned from Fox News. He now hosts a  failing podcast with his wife. Rick is used to the controversy surrounding Kelly and seems to also enjoy it himself. So it’s no surprise that the couple took Halloween to next level disrespectful. The internet was in an uproar after Kelly and Rick posted their Halloween costumes. Kelly dressed up as a Native American, headdress and all. Rick dressed as….wait for it….Alec Baldwin. As a cowboy. With a gun. Obviously in reference to Alec’s movie set, where he accidentally fatally shot one person and injured another.

Now Rick is backtracking on his disgusting choice of attire. He deleted the photos from his Instagram and told Page Six, “People twisted our outfits and intent in ways neither of us could’ve imagined and filled our page with hate.” Does anyone really believe that a grown man didn’t understand what he was doing here? And that the public is at fault for “twisting” the meaning of his costume?

According to Rick, “In no way was I trying to offend anyone, except Alec Baldwin. He’s a jerk and deserves all the heat he’s getting.” Ok, if he’s such a jerk, why did you call him a “great American film actor” in your original post? The one where you showed off your dumb Halloween costumes?

Before the post was taken down, one commenter expressed their dismay and said, “I always defend you both, but hard to find dressing up as Alec funny when a young woman’s life was cut short and a young boy is now without his mum. Really bad taste Rick.”

After taking down the post, Rick explained, “We took the post down out of respect for the victims’ families and only hope the cancel culture won’t cancel Halloween next,” he added.

But despite that, he continued to go off on Alec and the tragedy on set of his movie that left one woman dead. Griped Rick, “If Baldwin is anti-gun, why is he waving them around in movies and pointing them at people and pulling the trigger? Focus your anger at him and the hypocrisy of that industry.” Is Rick aware that people can be mad about two things at once? It is possible for someone to think the movie industry is hypocritical while also thinking Rick capitalizing on that moment is trash.

While Rick pretended to be remorseful, Kelly didn’t even bother. She captioned her picture from the Halloween party, “For you haters, I embrace my Native American heritage. I think the fashion is beautiful & this was a tribute & celebration.” When she spoke with Page Six she added, “People are always looking to criticize me for anything I do, so this is no surprise. And by the way, I’ve gotten lots of love and appreciation on Instagram, too, so thank you for all the support!”

Just when you thought Kelly couldn’t go any lower, she found a way. All with her husband at her side. It’s clear they know exactly what they are doing and love the attention. But eventually, people will catch on to her game and she will go too far. As if she hasn’t already.
