Kenya & NeNe at RHOA reunion

Kenya Moore Hopes She And NeNe Leakes Will Become Friends Again

Kenya Moore is not giving up on a friendship with NeNe Leakes anytime soon.

“I wouldn’t say that we’re friends. I would just say that we’re not in a bad place,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star spoke candidly in a video posted on her Instagram Live, which was shared by The Peach Report Daily in response to questions about a friendship with NeNe. “She appreciated me supporting Gregg [Leakes] and being at his repass and acknowledge that she didn’t really have time to really speak.”

NeNe was noticeably absent from the last season of RHOA after spending 10 seasons as the only OG cast member (even though she was absent from season nine, and only made a guest appearance on season eight). When filming started earlier this year, it was rumored NeNe was out again this season, as she wasn’t seen with the other ladies, either in public or on social media. But then, after Gregg losing his battle to colon cancer, the ladies all showed up to support NeNe, and rumors started to flow that she was filming for RHOA once again.

“You know, I’m just over beefing with people. I just think that you have to in your life just be able to move on and wish people well if they’re not really for you. Or sometimes you just don’t know what other people are going through and you have to have a forgiving heart,” Kenya empathized just coming off of her stint on Dancing with the Stars. “And I think I have a forgiving heart. Or not ‘think,’ I know. I know I do [have a forgiving heart],” the former Miss USA expressed. It seems safe to say NeNe has always found herself throwing verbal blows and professional shade to Kenya in the past, so this sentiment from Kenya is certainly not what fans would ever expect to hear.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is already filming for the upcoming season 14. With Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey both out, and Marlo Hampton and Sheree Whitfield both in as peach-holders, the drama will definitely be different. Fans of RHOA will also get to see Kenya find her own independence in raising her daughter, Brooklyn Daly, after her marriage strife with her ex-husband Marc Daly played out onscreen during season 13.  Despite their past beef, Kenya expressed the sentiment towards NeNe, “I hope in the future we can get to a point of being friends. But, right now, she’s going through something and I’m going to respect her space and where she is in all that.”

“So, Housewives is my baby. And I really do wanna see it stay around for 10, 15, 20 years if we can,” NeNe has rightfully declared. So much so, it is rumored that Bravo’s cameras were rolling through Gregg’s transition, and viewers will get to see NeNe’s struggle through it all. After over 20 years of marriage, and Gregg on her side since the first season of the show, it will be interesting to witness NeNe learn to walk in her new path without him.

Despite their past problems, fans really would like to see the two queens get along. Even more so, it will be interesting to see if Kenya and NeNe can actually rekindle their friendship. Regardless, it will make for good television watching the beauty queen and self-proclaimed reality queen learning to share the throne.
