Luann De Lesseps Says It’s Important To Own Her Behavior After Getting Kicked Out Of A Bar

Luann de Lesseps is putting Lisa Rinna’s famous quote “own it, baby” to good use. After news broke that our Countess of Cabaret got kicked out of a New York City piano bar, Lu was again faced with the embarrassment of overindulging. According to witnesses, the Real Housewives of New York star showed up already tipsy. She tried to monopolize the stage to perform and the crowd wasn’t having it. Said the source, “The piano player was like, ‘I don’t know the song,’ and she responded, ‘It’s a hit!’” The crowd booed her and she “yelled at the other patrons on the microphone.” She was finally escorted out for her behavior.

As reported by Page Six, Lu had to face the music on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live. Lu told host Andy Cohen, “I had a pretty good track record, but people slip. And like I said, I’m only human, and it happened. That’s part of being responsible and moving on, picking yourself back up and doing the right thing.” She added, “And you know, I had a party that night, for sure.”

Luann, who said she was sober prior to the incident, quickly apologized for the incident on her Instagram. Her post read, “This week, after a regrettable incident I was forced with the truth. I want to apologize to the staff at Townhouse and anyone else I may have offended by my behavior. Clearly my struggles with alcohol are real!” Lu admitted, “While I’ve made great strides over the years, there’s been many times I’ve fallen. It’s one day at a time! I’m in recovery and taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again.” She concluded, “I’m grateful to my family and friends for their constant support.”

Luann’s drinking struggles have played out on RHONY over the years since her infamous arrest in 2017. She pled guilty, her charges were reduced and she avoided jail time. Luann ended up in rehab twice for her struggles. But she seemed to be moving on nicely, even starting a line of nonalcoholic rosè last year.

Indeed, everyone does make mistakes and hopefully Luann can learn from the incident. And she has incentive to stay on track with her image. After a dismal season 13 of RHONY, Andy announced that the future of the franchise would be split up into two different shows. He stressed that no casting had been decided but noted, “I mean, we talked about everything. There were people who really wanted: Let’s just totally start over. And then there were people who were like, ‘Wait a minute, but what about this group that we’ve invested 13 years in?’”

TELL US – WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT LU’S INCIDENT? HOW DO YOU THINK SHE HAS HANDLED THE AFTERMATH? DO YOU WANT TO SEE LUANN COME BACK TO ONE OF THE RHONY SHOWS?
