Below Deck’s Katie Glaser Reveals The Status Of Her Season 10 Boatmance With Ross McHarg

Long story short, Katie Glaser and Ross McHarg’s Below Deck boatmance has slipped beneath the waves. It has sunk to the bottom of the sea, where it belongs. Is anyone really surprised? As fans of the show continue to watch the on again-off again of their relationship, Katie confirmed that their romance didn’t survive past the end of their season on the St. David motor yacht.

“We both live on opposite sides of the world,” Katie told E! News. “He went his way after the show and I went mine. At the end of the day we decided that it was what it was on the boat, and after the boat we both went our separate ways.”

Aside from being completely inappropriate to engage in a relationship with a subordinate, it was pretty apparent that Ross didn’t really have any deep feelings for Katie. She kept trying to make things happen between them. But once Ross had had a couple of drinks, he was all over Katie’s fellow crewmate Alissa Humber. The self-proclaimed “sex addict” just wanted some female attention and didn’t really care where (or who) it came from.

Katie isn’t in any hurry to start another romance at the moment. “I am single,” the Florida resident declared. “I’m just enjoying life right now.” She further admitted that yachting is an “interesting” industry to date in.

Realistically, yachting crew comes from all over the world, so the odds of finding a lasting relationship with a co-worker on a boat are pretty slim. Charter seasons only run about 6 weeks, so unless you find a really strong connection with someone, chances are both parties will go their separate ways at the end of the season. In Katie and Ross‘ case, she lives in Florida and he’s based in Asia, which is pretty much the opposite side of the globe.

On Below Deck’s most recent episode, Ross lost his temper with Katie and stalked out of her cabin, after she again accused him of flirting with Alissa during the crew’s night out. Besides being a sex addict, Ross also tends to over imbibe. So he’s usually sloppy drunk on their nights off.

“I think he didn’t like when I keep bringing it up, but obviously that’s something that really bugs me when he’s obviously flirting with Alissa,” Katie explained. Obviously. “I would never tolerate that in my normal life, so to me I feel like with him you have to keep hitting it over the head until he listens.”

Alissa does seem to go out of her way to flirt with Ross right under Katie’s nose. She seems to get a little perverse pleasure out of winding Katie up. “I think there was a little intention of getting under my skin, because it worked,” the deckhand admitted.

“But at the end of the day I realized Ross and I were never going to have anything after the show. It was a fun experience,” she said.

That off-camera shower scene, though, with Ross (viewers heard only sound affects of the couple having sex in one of the guest cabins) may be embarrassing to explain at the Below Deck reunion show. Good luck with that, Katie.

TELL US – DID YOU THINK ROSS AND KATIE MIGHT CONTINUE THEIR RELATIONSHIP BEYOND THE SHOW? OR DID YOU KNOW THEY WERE ONLY INTO EACH OTHER DUE TO THE LIMITED PICKINGS ON THE BOAT?
