Jenna Lyons is, once again, explaining her outfit choices. The Real Housewives of New York star made waves by being the first cast member in the entire franchise to wear jeans to a reunion last month.
Now, mere weeks after attending Usher’s Paris Fashion Week party on September 29, the former J.Crew creative director and president spoke about her quirky and challenging ensemble.
Jenna felt like a “pariah”
Jenna was a guest on The Run-Through With Vogue podcast where she discussed the logistics of wearing latex. The situation included her “worst nightmare” of getting stuck in the Saint Laurent latex mock-neck-one-piece.
To put the outfit on required Jenna covering herself in “basically lube.” She explained, “The problem is, when you wear latex you have to put lube on it because otherwise it doesn’t shine.”
Once successfully dressed, the RHONY star had to avoid making contact with anything that could be damaged by the lubricant.
“So, then you can’t get next to anything. You can’t hug anyone, you can’t rub up against anything and you can’t sit on a piece of upholstered furniture because you’ll ruin it. So, you’re a little bit like a weirdo. You’re walking into the party like ‘Don’t touch,’ ” Jenna explained.
To make the situation more challenging, Jenna had to pack extra lube for Fashion Week as what was provided with her latex purchase wasn’t adequate for that extra shine she was after. The result was that Jenna felt like a “giant sex toy.”
“I was the pariah of Paris,” she quipped.
Jenna also spoke of sweating all night into her outfit. Not for the faint of heart.
“You come home and you’ve created an ecosystem within your own body,” she revealed.
