Jax Taylor Teases His Pump Rules Comeback: ‘Only the Beginning’

Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor is threatening suggesting that he may be returning to the Bravoverse. But did he ever really leave? He’s always seemed to be lurking in the background.

Jax was a main character on Pump Rules for eight years. But in late 2020, he and wife Brittany Cartwright were allegedly fired from the show. Jax quickly put out his statement on Instagram, saying that he and Britt were moving on with their lives and wouldn’t be returning to the show. Brittany, who was pregnant with their first child at the time, posted her own announcement using similar language.

Aprés VPR, the Taylors turned their attention to welcoming their son Cruz Michael Cauchi (Jax’s legal last name) in April 2021. Attempting to keep themselves relevant, they launched Mamaw’s Beer Cheese (Britt’s grandma’s recipe) and a sports bar, Jax’s Studio City. When Scandoval broke, streaming platform Peacock hired Jax and Britt to provide commentary on the final three episodes of Season 10. Apparently, their return to television was well received, as Jax is now teasing a possible Pump Rules comeback.

#numberoneguyinthegroup

I hate to admit it, but I’ve actually missed the self-proclaimed #NumberOneGuyInTheGroup. His vanity (three nose jobs and counting) and his monumental bad decisions are cringeworthy, but for the most part amusing.

Jax cheated on his OG girlfriend on the show, Stassi Schroeder. He had sex with his buddy Tom Sandoval’s then-girlfriend Kristen Doute and lied about it for months before finally admitting his guilt. He drunkenly shoplifted a pair of sunglasses from a gift shop in Hawaii and ended up in jail, while the rest of the cast flew back to LA. The former model cheated on Brittany with Faith Stowers (they were “on a break”), which nearly sent KFC back to Kentucky permanently. Jax may be obnoxious, but he’s rarely boring.

And now he’s (possibly) returning to our TV screens. But could this be a different Jax? He’s a married man now. He and Britt have a two-year-old and are currently trying for number two. It might be fun to see how their lives have changed. Jax is 44 now. It’s time for him to settle down a bit.

Is Pump Rules over?

Would fans watch a more grown-up version of Pump Rules? The original show focused on everyone who worked at SUR. Nobody works at SUR anymore, and many of them have their own businesses. Lisa Vanderpump no longer “rules” anyone on this show. They’re all adults (sort of). Lala Kent and Sandoval are both sober these days (James Kennedy falls on and off the wagon), and several are parents, so there won’t be too many wild parties going on.

Maybe it’s time to put this show out of its misery. Could the return of Jax Taylor signal last call at the Valley Village cantina?

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premieres on January 30, 2024 at 8/7c on Bravo.
