The much-anticipated Episode 14 of Southern Charm Season 9 showed the cast “Playing House” as each Charmer sat around the table waiting for Taylor to deliver her soliloquy. Last week’s episode ended on a cliffhanger as the verbally abused Taylor chose to stand up and say her peace to an already intoxicated friend group. No one wants to hear what you have to say, Taylor, so sit right on down. Sadly, she didn’t take my advice. Here’s what went down in the explosive Southern Charm Season 9, Episode 14: “Playing House.”

Taylor the apologizer

I hate watching an apology tour, but what I hate even more is watching Taylor say over and over again in her confessionals that she did nothing wrong, then get up in front of everyone and start crying.

Taylor, who looks great in her orange dress, starts the episode by saying, “I’ve apologized. I don’t know what else I can give.” Olivia mean mugs her former friend, clearly thinking about how she would like to be anywhere else but this dinner table. The drunk rambling continues as Taylor slurs her words, saying, “There never was an expansive anything going on between us. That is that. I’m done.” Austen looks just as uncomfortable as I feel listening to the lackluster apology. Who is Taylor to tell Olivia when she should be done with her feelings?

Thank god for Madison, who bluntly asks, “What happened?” with Taylor answering, “A kiss.” Hmm, okay, Taylor, you keep telling yourself that.

Shut up, Shep!

If Shep interjects one more time, I am going to pull my hair out. Olivia quickly corrects Taylor, noting it wasn’t just one kiss; it was “a make out.” Drunk Shep jumps to Taylor’s aid, telling everyone “not to get bogged down with the details?” What? Surely, you need to know the details to figure out the facts in the story. I am so proud of Olivia as she grew a backbone and told Shep where to shove it.

While everyone is acting like the kiss is something that can be overlooked, Olivia unleashes, stating, “Do not act like this is something that needs to be put to rest because I’m reacting. I am mad and angry,” telling Shep she is so “so sorry your kumbaya moment isn’t working. If that’s your journey to suppress your emotions. That’s great. F*ck off.” Lord, I love me an activated Olivia.

Honesty is the best policy

So fed up with her own actions, Taylor bursts out of left field screaming, “Do you want me to say we f*cked? Then I’d be lying.” Yet everyone turned into a bobblehead at that exact moment, with Olivia answering, “Yes, because that is what happened.”

If Austen and Taylor had just been honest right from the start, it wouldn’t even be a question. I feel like I am back in the ’90s with Bill Clinton as Austen yells, “Taylor and I did not have sex!” It’s safe to say there is no love lost in this love triangle.

Madison is greater than Wonder Woman

As Taylor and Austen continued to pile onto Olivia, the blonde bombshell came to the rescue. Madison physically put a barrier, which was her arm, in front of Olivia, telling the kissing bandits, “Are you going to stop attacking her?” Now, I really hate Austen and how he reacted as he told Madison, “Hush. This isn’t your f*cking problem. Hush, hush. You’re a clown.” Thankfully, Madison doesn’t have to take his shit anymore and quips, “Don’t you dare. You don’t give a shit about anybody.”

Madison is backed up by JT, who asks, “What is she a child?” The rookie has been on point when it comes to standing up for the women of the group, which I find most refreshing. JT takes it upon himself to tell Austen, “You need to stand up.” JT is like a bloodhound. He smells bullshit and isn’t afraid to call Austen out.

The argument came to an end between the table when Taylor crossed a line, noting, “I love and adore my brother just like I am sure you loved and adored yours.” That line was nauseating and inexcusable. Thankfully, Venita is there to run after Olivia and console her. The influencer may be the wisest of us all, but she tells a visibly upset Olivia, “She is not your best friend.” The entire episode left us on a cliffhanger as the trailer for next week showed the Charmers rocking the boat with multiple fights.

Southern Charm Season 9 returns January 4, 2024, at 8/7c on Bravo.
