Dayna Kathan Had ‘Full-Blown’ Panic Attack Filming Vanderpump Rules

Everyone is feeling the heat from Vanderpump Rules Season 11, even the minor guest stars. Indeed, the buzz around VPR has been palpable ever since Season 10’s conclusion. Fans are on the edge of their seats to see what happens from here.

With that in mind, there must be astronomical pressure on the cast right now. That pressure comes not only from having to deliver a compelling next season but also to maintain their public image, no matter what happens.

VPR alum Dayna Kathan came back to film briefly for Season 11, but she couldn’t even take the heat over just a few days of filming – if even that much. It’s no wonder she left the show after just one season given her reaction.

Katie Maloney calms Dayna down after Vanderpump Rules Season 11 filming

Dayna appeared on The Viall Files podcast to discuss what it was like filming for Season 11. “I filmed a tiny bit. This year I did think about coming back. I filmed and immediately I was like, ‘I can’t do this.’ So, I don’t know if what I filmed will make it.” She further explained her reaction to filming: “I had a full-blown screaming, crying panic attack and I didn’t realize.”

She went on, “I was like, ‘Well, I’m in a better place now and so mentally stable blah blah blah,’ and then, nope. So, funneling that into a podcast.” But it wasn’t all bad. Dayna’s mention of the podcast referred to her new partnership with Katie Maloney. The two have decided to produce a podcast about their dating experiences, titled Disrespectfully.

In the heat of her panic attack from filming, Dayna was able to call Katie and receive some words of comfort. As for her departure from VPR, Dayna said, “People always assume that I was just a server but I was actually in healthcare sales, like I had a corporate job, and they had me work at the restaurants to fit me in because I was a random.”

She added, “I had a work situation that went really south because my company at the time was not okay with the show. And so, I [had] been with my current company for three years, and I liked my job and I was immediately like, ‘Holy sh*t, I cannot threaten my livelihood’ and it just wasn’t worth it.”

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premieres January 30 at 8/7c on Bravo.
