Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules premiered this week and gave us our first glimpse into a post-Scandoval world. On camera, that is.
Ariana Madix has moved on mentally. But physically, she still can’t escape former partner and castmate Tom Sandoval. Despite the atomic breakup between them, the two are still living together in the mansion they bought together in 2019.
Ariana used one of her confessionals to explain how she’s handling living with her ex.
Ariana and Tom are fighting over LED lights while living in the same home
Ariana told viewers, “Three months ago, when Tom blew up our lives, I was not, like, prepared to be kicked out of my house and start a whole new frickin’ life. So, even though we still live under the same roof, I’ve been able to maintain a no-contact policy.”
She went on to say, “We communicate via his assistant, Ann. Which is great for me because I don’t have to look at his stupid face, but bad for Ann, because that’s literally her job.”
It definitely sounds like a full-time job for Ann. Because Ariana admitted that she counts on Ann to handle even the smallest of interactions between the two. After texting Ann to request that Tom during off his LED lights at night, Ann told Ariana, “He says they fall under freedom of speech.” To which I say, what the what?
Ariana is taking legal action
Based on that alone, it sounds like tension is at an all-time high between Ariana and Sandoval. This is only underlined by the news that earlier this month, Ariana filed documents to sue her ex to seek “partition by sale.” In layman’s terms, the sandwich shop owner wants to sell the house and split the proceeds.
As for filming this season, Ariana has no choice but to show up to scenes at locations that make her uncomfortable. Before a scene at Sandoval’s bar TomTom, Ariana asserted, “I shouldn’t have to make my life smaller because Tom messed everything up, and if I can go there and make new memories, maybe it won’t have power over me anymore and I’ll just be able to look at it as some bar.”
