Vanderpump Rules Season 11 has shown us some evolving cast dynamics in just its first four episodes. Perhaps chief among these is the surprising growth between Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz.
Lala and Schwartz shared an unexpected heart-to-heart in Season 11, Episode 4. The deep conversation came after Lala almost blew up at the restauranteur after he suggested the entire cast take a trip together to celebrate the opening of Wolf.
Ariana Madix made it clear that she didn’t want to be anywhere near Schwartz or Tom Sandoval. The rest of the cast had Ariana’s back. However, Lala admittedly felt a bit bad for Schwartz and decided she had a bit of explaining to do.
Lala admits she projected over Schwartz’s jab at Ariana
On the February 20 episode of VPR, Lala acknowledged that she came down on Schwartz perhaps a little too hard. “I’m still working on ‘Don’t get triggered by your own experiences,’ but that is going to be a process,” she told him. “At some point in my life, I have to practice forgiveness. I cannot wear my trauma like a badge of honor anymore.”
Schwartz praised her self-awareness and shared how disillusioned he was feeling with the group. “I know we all have problems, but there was a moment last night where Ariana looked at me like I was subhuman.” He added, “I do love Ariana, but I’m not going to fawn for her affection or her validation.”
Rather surprisingly, Lala consoled Tom, telling him his reaction was “natural,” adding, “I thought you handled yourself well last night.” She further explained her negative reaction: “I was triggered when you talked about her ego because immediately I took that as like, ‘Oh no, you talked about my ego because I was there.’”
Lala added, “There are times [when] I take things to heart, which is what I’m working on — like, not being a dog in everyone else’s fight.”
