Kristen Doute Was ‘Demoted’ Before Leaving Pump Rules

Kristen Doute recently opened up about being demoted during an earlier season of Vanderpump Rules

The Bravo veteran spoke about her experience on an episode of her podcast, Sex, Love, and What Else Matters. She revealed Tom Sandoval loaned her money during a tough time in her life. “I believe it was my second to last season on Vanderpump Rules. There was a Witches of WeHo wine party. Katie [Maloney], Stassi [Schroeder], and I were not getting along. So, to be very transparent at the time, I had been demoted that season from an episodic paid cast member to a day rate,” she said.

“I’m not going into the ins and outs because money is f*cking weird, and honestly, it’s none of y’all’s business. I love you. So that episode, I was in but like barely.”

Kristen said she woke up to a random payment from Sandoval during an earlier season of Pump Rules

Although Kristen was on camera, the reality star claimed she wasn’t getting paid the same as her co-stars. “So I did get paid, but Tom Sandoval happened to be there, and he was in it for a blink of an eye, like a half a second, which didn’t even cross my mind,” she explained. “Cut to when that episode aired, and he was in it for just a second, and he got paid his episodic rate.”

“I randomly, without him telling me, I get this PayPal for a few thousand dollars from Tom Sandoval and I’m like, ‘What the f*ck? This has to be like a mistake. I think he made a mistake,’” she revealed. “But he sent it to me because he said he did not think it was fair that he got paid his full episodic payment for being in the episode for a split second when I carried that episode on why back and only got paid nickels in comparison.”

Kristen will return to Bravo on March 19 when her spinoff, The Valley, featuring Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, airs following an episode of VPR. The series will follow a group of individuals learning how to adult in the valley. Most watchers aren’t too excited about this. In fact, most agree with former Pump Rules star Peter Madrigal that it looks like “garbage.”

However, if you want to watch The Valley after its premiere, you can stream it on Peacock. You can also catch new episodes of Vanderpump Rules on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
