Brittany Cartwright ‘Still Friends’ With Estranged Husband Jax Taylor: ‘Not a Publicity Stunt’

Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor have addressed the rumors that their recent split is to garner ratings for their new series, The Valley, which premieres on Bravo on March 19.

The pair, who first met on Vanderpump Rules, announced the current state of their relationship. This was during an episode of their podcast When Reality Hits a few weeks ago. “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” Brittany noted. She added that she’s “taking things one day at a time.”

The reality stars recently spoke about rumors their relationship troubles are a ploy to drive viewers to their Pump Rules spinoff. “I think there’s a lot of people out there trying to act that what’s going on between us is a publicity stunt, but no,” Brittany insisted. “I would never uproot my child if it wasn’t for, you know, for the best and for us to try and figure things out between ourselves. It’s not a publicity stunt. I cannot make that clear enough.”

Will Jax and Brittany’s relationship troubles be shown on The Valley?

Jax and Brittany have had their fair share of relationship issues showcased on Bravo. Although the new series finished filming in 2023, a recent report noted the cameras began rolling again. This has of course been done to capture the fallout from the separation.

“The reason we did this, too, [is] because we feel like it’s important for us to be honest with all of our fans,” Jax explained. “You guys have been so amazing over the years, and it’s just the right thing to do … If we’re gonna do this and we’re gonna share our lives, we might as well let you guys know what’s going on.”

And don’t worry; they’re still getting along. “We also are still friends; we’re still co-parenting; Cruz is what matters the most,” Brittany continued. “We’re gonna be adulting as hell about this.”

In February 2024, the Bravo alums noted that much had happened between cast members of The Valley following filming. “The Valley is going to be filled with drama,” Brittany revealed. Meanwhile, Jax said the show featured more conflict than its sister show, VPR. “It’s almost like we didn’t skip a beat,” he said.

The Valley airs on Bravo on March 19.
