Brittany Cartwright has been taking some time to focus on herself, her mental health, and her baby, Cruz. Since revealing she and Jax Taylor were spending time apart in February, she’s sharing more, including Jax’s pleas for her not to leave.
“He didn’t want me to leave in the beginning at all,” Brittany told People. “Now, he is more understanding. But in the very beginning, I think he thought I was just going to be gone for a couple of days, and I was going to come right back, and everything was going to be completely normal. But that’s not been the case.”
Jax and Brittany are no strangers to having explosive fights. Their challenging journey to marriage was shown throughout several seasons of Vanderpump Rules. Now, they’re in a new show, The Valley. And according to Brittany, we’ll see more of their struggle as a married couple.

During her Watch What Happens Live appearance, Brittany told Andy Cohen she was in a great place. “I feel good,” she said. “I feel very strong, and I’m proud of myself for doing what’s right for my mental health and for my family.”
The reality star explained that prior to moving into a rental home, she’d put up with many things from Jax that she shouldn’t have, saying it had an impact on her well-being.
“I’ve forgiven for things that I shouldn’t have over the past years, but I just have always loved him so much and stood by him no matter what,” she explained. “I’m always taking up for him, always apologizing, always cleaning up messes, and after nine years, that can really wear on you.”
Despite their struggles, Brittany and Jax haven’t decided if they’ll pursue a divorce.
“I definitely think about it, but I’m just not there yet,” she said. “You go back and forth. It’s so hard when you have a kid, so it’s like a lot of ups and downs. Some days, I’m like, ‘Never coming back,’ and then other times, I’m like, ‘We’ll see what happens.’ So it’s all up in that air right now.”
