Jax Taylor is back on Bravo! The 44-year-old returned to the network this year to star in the new Vanderpump Rules spinoff, The Valley. We’re three episodes into the show and it’s safe to say Jax is as messy and dramatic as ever. After leaving VPR, he tried to rebrand as a “mature family man” but we just saw him pants his friend in Episode 2, so we’re not so sure about that.
Jax has always been a polarizing figure but it’s hard to deny he’s a great reality TV star. From his fights with Tom Sandoval to his numerous cosmetic surgeries, he’s given us a lot to laugh about in the last decade.
In honor of his return to Bravo, here is a look back at some of his funniest moments on VPR:
When he ripped off his cardigan
In Season 1, Jax decided to crash his ex-girlfriend Stassi Schroeder’s birthday party in Vegas. His surprise appearance was not well received, especially by Stassi’s new fling, Frank Herlihy. Jax and Frank started fighting, which eventually led to them taking it to the parking lot where they got in a physical fight. The best part was when Jax ripped off his knit cardigan to show everyone he meant business. It was so funny. The cardigan became so famous that it has a spot in the Watch What Happens Live Clubhouse. Well, in the hallway, but still!
When he got multiple nose jobs
In Season 3, Jax decided it was time to fully immerse himself in LA culture and get a nose job. It was funny the first time but what made it iconic was that he went back for two more surgeries.
When he said ‘Hashtag Me Too’
At the Season 6 reunion, Jax’s girlfriend, Brittany Cartwright, spoke about body positivity after revealing she received hateful comments online. Jax tried to show support for his girlfriend by chiming in and saying, “Hashtag Me Too.” His response elicited laughter from the cast who couldn’t believe he didn’t know the meaning behind the Me Too movement. The social movement is meant to raise awareness for victims of sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Jax saw it more as an umbrella term to show his support for women. Oh boy.
When he roasted Sandoval
In Season 11, Jax showed up to a dinner with the Vanderpump Rules boys to give Sandoval some “advice.” He roasted Sandoval for his “bad behavior,” which was rich coming from a notorious cheater. The scene had us laughing from start to finish. First, he insulted Sandoval’s appearance. Then, he moved on to calling him a disgrace. Finally, the two came to a resolution after reminiscing about their friendship. It was a whirlwind. The best part was when he rolled up his sleeve to reveal his “Tom, Tom, and I” tattoo. Iconic!
When he sexualized a squirrel
In Season 6 of VPR, Jax was trying to express why he was unfaithful to Brittany and he used an interesting example. He explained that he was not in a good place in life and would’ve cheated on her with anyone, even a rodent.
“If a f*cking squirrel would have looked at me… I would have f**ked it,” he said in an episode. Hmm. Interesting choice of words. I’m sure that made Brittany feel so much better.
When he went to Reiki
Jax decided to dip his toe into the world of pseudoscience in Season 6 of VPR by hiring a Reiki master. It was amusing to watch the bond between him and the instructor, Kelsey Patel. We loved seeing him get in touch with his spiritual side and reflect on his destructive past.
When he said ‘I’m the number one guy in the group’
This has to be Jax’s most iconic moment on the show. We’ll never forget when he told Sandoval, “Dude, stop acting like you’re the number one f*cking guy in this group, man. I’m the number one guy in the group.” This moment perfectly summed up the dynamic between the two supposed “friends.” It was so childish and unserious, much like their friendship.
