In her recent Watch What Happens Live appearance, Scheana Shay addressed the much-discussed kiss with Tom Schwartz. From the moment this came to light in the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 trailer, fans have been gripped by the alleged exchange.
Scheana inadvertently created more buzz around the moment when she joked that the kiss was “supposed to go to the grave.” Many fans took her all too seriously. She teased that there was more to the story than it seemed and encouraged fans to stay tuned.
On the March 26 episode of VPR, fans finally saw the trailer moment come to pass. Schwartz confessed the truth of the kiss to Lala Kent. After the April 9 episode, Scheana addressed the matter for herself.
Why didn’t Scheana tell Katie about the kiss?
On WWHL, a fan called in to ask Scheana why she never told Katie Maloney about the kiss with Schwartz. Scheana responded, “I think the better question is why didn’t Schwartz tell Katie?” A bit of a deflection, but she did have a point. “There’s also that which no one is asking,” Scheana continued. “At the time, if I would’ve told her this, it would have turned on me.”
Scheana further explained that she would have been perceived as a homewrecker had the truth of the kiss come out at the time. “I didn’t want to upset her. And I didn’t want to hurt her,” Scheana added. As mentioned, Scheana does have a point when it comes to Schwartz’s level of honesty with Katie.
However, one might argue that Scheana had a responsibility to tell Katie if Schwartz wasn’t going to. At the time, Scheana also had a point that she likely would’ve been deemed the temptress in this situation. As fans saw with Scandoval, women always receive a more severe response in cases of infidelity.
