Katie Maloney Stayed ‘True’ to Herself During Season 11

Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules gave us a snapshot of a fractured, and shifting friend group. Filming commenced just months after Scandoval, and feelings were still raw. Pump Rules cast members Scheana Shay, James Kennedy, and Lala Kent seemed willing to give Tom Sandoval another chance. Meanwhile, Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney were not.

During Season 11, Katie finally freed herself of Tom Schwartz, her ex-husband. Other than sharing dog custody, she ignored him. It was a refreshing change. Instead, she hooked up with Schwartz’s best friend, Max Boyens. And she dated the same woman, Tori Keeth, as Schwartz. Katie was living her best life and showing off her confidence.

Katie followed her truth

“This year feels particularly different,” Katie told OK! “Going into the season, the group felt very much fractured and almost like not enough life had been lived post-Scandoval. I tried to lead with my own conviction and integrity of trying to be there for Ariana. I had spent a lot of time with her, listening to her, talking to her, and trying to have compassion for her,” she added.

Katie dealt with the aftermath of her divorce from Schwartz during Season 10 of VPR. So, she was ready to support Ariana. “Coming off of the previous season where I was going through my own world of not having a ton of support from the group, I wanted to be there for her and be supportive of her,” she stated.

Katie continued, “All I can do is be true to who I am and say what I mean. That’s the only way to not have regrets or feel that I didn’t do the right thing or say the right thing.” She added, “I can’t speak for the rest of the group.”

The cast has shared that filming the reunion was difficult. “The reunion was not the best day. I think right now, everyone needs some breathing room,” Katie explained. Lala recently unfollowed Katie and Ariana on Instagram. Scandalous!
